Handpull at The Botanist. Clear burnt brick deep red with a small but long lasting creamy beige/tan head. Aroma of light roast chocolate and mikd floral bitterness - a bit medicinal? Taste - wow - is there real lime in this? - all I GET is sharp lime with a hint of roast - alcohol - no clue. Light and slick, somewhat carbonated, quick finish. Lime. Huh. Cask at the Botanist, pours a dark red-brown with a foamy tan head, light chocoloate notes on the nose, then the palate brings a maltyish body with a hint of lime plus strawberry and plum notes. It’s made with leaves of the kaffir lime, as used in Thai cooking, it’s not actually that lmiey really, but once you notice that it’s there it’s a bit disconcerting - I found it hard to shake off the idea of a porter "with a lime top".
