Many thanks to jsquire for this bottle! Great floral fruity nose with hints of dry malt. The beer starts fresh floral, great dry. Dark roasted malt, fresh citrus hops, pine, nice intense bitter. The aftertaste is intense-floral, fruity, nice roasted-smooth with a nice bitter aftertaste. Great brew!

Look - Call it Brown Rajah. Ivory head, medium sized. Decent lacing. Smell - Grapefruit. Dank. Burnt malt. Chocolate. Taste - Grapefruit up front. Bitter in the middle. Finish of a stout or porter. Bitter aftertaste. Feel - Medium carbonation. No bomb. Creamy. Attempts to dry up but takes a while. Overall - I am a fan of Brown Rajah. Not my favorite black IPA. I wish Brew Kettle would make their labels easier to remove for home brew!

Pours dark black with brown head. A strong citrus and floral hop aroma with tropical fruit. A strong citrus and floral hop, roasted malt, and light coffee taste. A lingering bitter hop and roasted malt aftertaste.

A bit more hoppy and less malty than a normal Black IPA but I LOVE it. Great summer beer on a hot day. It smacks you in the face and doesn’t fade after a couple like so many do. White Rajah good - Black Rajah, in yo face mutha.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, chocolate, cocoa, toast, light char, floral, grass, and floral/roasted earthiness. Fantastic aromas with bright citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate roasted malt balance; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, chocolate, cocoa, toast, light char, floral, grass, and floral/roasted earthiness. Good amount of pine/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange zest, pine, chocolate, cocoa, light char, and floral/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate roasted malt balance; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome black IPA. All around great complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate roasted malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head. The aroma is citrus hop and pine. More hop forward than roast forward, nice smoothness compared to over bitter over roast from regular black ipas.

A well put together black IPA that has low bitterness and a mild roasted flavor.

You can smell the cotta hops hiding behind the malt, it was a dark pour with a two finger head with decent lacing throughout the session. There was a hint of tropical/grapefruit taste with a slight roasted hop finish. As an IPA fan I was surprised with how good it was. I'm glad I picked up a 6er. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

No way around it! This thing is a winner. It’ alpha crazy with deep citrus and dark fruit undertones. I’m guessing this thing went under some pretty good dry hopping. Excellent offering from a super-reliable brewery. Serving: 12oz bottle
