Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark caramel color with a large foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was faint but a bit toasty with bread crust and a hint of fruity hops. The flavor was bitter with almost crystal malt, tobacco, dark fruit and perfume. Long perfumey finish. Medium body. Not good. rondphoto (4448) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - DEC 1, 2015
bottle @ Jungle Jims / Eastgate OH --- Clear dark amber color, bubbly beige head cover, streaks of lace. Taste is malt that is joined by slightly "off" cedar on the swallow. My guess is that this is past the "best by" date, and, although still drinkable, it isn’t very appealing. Pailhead (6539) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - OCT 8, 2015
On tap: The aroma consists light toasted caramel with some mild nuttiness. It’s a transparent dark amber with a small off-white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with light-moderate caramel with a hint of toffee. The finish has light toasty notes with hint lemon nuts and earthy flavors. It’s light-medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. bvbunited (72) - Ohio, USA - SEP 28, 2015
Some beers surprise you and this one did. I was pleasantly surprised at the aroma and taste of this beer. This is my first rating of a beer kettle beer and they did a great job with this beer I would definitely recommend it to anyone and look forward to trying other beers from them. Brew Kettle Oktofest purchased at giant eagle in westerville, ohio. Oktofest is a rich red copper clear brew with barely any head. The aroma is a rich caramelized grain scent. Taste is rather slow to develop, mild caramelized sweetness, mild hop bitters and just a little tartness. body is lively and fluid. This beer is rather disappointing. the taste is thinner than expected. Based on some of their other brews, my expectations were much higher. Dogbrick (13012) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 31, 2014
Sample at the brewpub. Clear dark orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes quickly to a film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of roast malt, caramel and slight hops. Light to medium body with flavors of grainy malt, caramel and mild fruity hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall. pottygok (548) - Ohio, USA - SEP 22, 2014
Aroma: Nice toasted malt aromas. Appearance: Clear amber with rich tan head. Taste: Medium sweetness throughout. Palate: Medium body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation, long malty finish. Overall: A nice, malty brew. Not my favorite, but it works well.

Bottle received in a trade with awlcordell. A clear amber pour that has just a little foam. A sweet toffee and gentle fruit aroma. Caramel malts and that fruit are tasted first. It is a little like drinking candy. Some grain, earth, and soft hop notes. Caramel grows. This is a sweet drinking beer and is definitely on the pleasant side. nathan30533 (1020) - Clifton, Ohio, USA - SEP 4, 2014
