This marzen is made in the traditional German style but is smooth across the palate and very much on the lighter side. Nice malt aroma with a semi-sweet lingering flavor.

Aroma: Nice toasted malt aromas. Appearance: Clear amber with rich tan head. Taste: Medium sweetness throughout. Palate: Medium body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation, long malty finish. Overall: A nice, malty brew. Not my favorite, but it works well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Some beers surprise you and this one did. I was pleasantly surprised at the aroma and taste of this beer. This is my first rating of a beer kettle beer and they did a great job with this beer I would definitely recommend it to anyone and look forward to trying other beers from them.

12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, 2013 bottling. Pours fairly crystal clear orange amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big caramel, toast, biscuit, pear, apple, pepper, herbal, nuttiness, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of malt and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, pepper, pear, apple, nuttiness, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, pepper, pear, and apple on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of malt and yeast ester flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and moderately crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice oktoberfest style! All around well balanced and robust malt and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle drank out of a plastic glass in a hotel in South Dayton. Orange-brown...not much head in this vessel. Malty, smooth, clean, very drinkable for 6%. Straightforward, classic, well done. I could drink a lot of this.

Crisp and clear, perhaps a shade darker orange than most marzens. Aroma is malty and grassy. Quite nice body to this. One drawback some marzens can have is a watery body, but this doesn’t have that problem at all. Chewy and full of flavor. Tasty blend of malts with just enough hops to make you notice at the end. 6% ABV. Very nice marzen!

Sample at TBK on 10/11/13. Clear amber in color with a thin beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, bread and lager yeast. Malty flavor with lager crispness, some caramel and light bread before a clean finish.

On tap: The aroma consists light toasted caramel with some mild nuttiness. It’s a transparent dark amber with a small off-white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with light-moderate caramel with a hint of toffee. The finish has light toasty notes with hint lemon nuts and earthy flavors. It’s light-medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel.

Deep golden color out of the bottle with short lived white head. Sweet malty nose. Light bodied beer with caramel sweetness, some toast and some orange/fruit flavors. Easy drinking Oktoberfest.
