Bottle from Rabbott, undated but fresh, drunk 3/25/16.Iphonephan (7073) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - MAR 16, 2016
Clear golden, light amber body is well-carbonated and topped by a large white head showing good retention.
The nose is full of both herb and fruit, with some light candied citrus somewhat sweetening/balancing things and light pineapple and mango for juiciness. Cracker and biscuit like malts remain in the background while no heavy resin appears, nor alcohol. Definitely not a juice bomb and quite West Coast, as they say. Much more austere than the average NE IPA, but still very well-executed.
Soft, malty texture with creamy carbonation kicks things off the right way, with light biscuit and grain balancing lemon, candied orange and dry mango/pineapple. Light mint-like herbal suggestions add some complexity and it finishes with apricot-orange and medium bitterness. No resin or alcohol.
From a 12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with a thick white head. Grapefruit aroma. Favors of adoring orange and tropical fruits. Bitter finish. dmac (6387) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAR 5, 2016
12oz bottle huge thanks to Ed5388. Poured an orange body with a foamy off white head. Aroma of rotting citrus, wet dough, lemon skin, crusts, brown bread and grassy hops. Flavor is similar, hops seem older, more earthy and grassy than citrus or pine. Full body, slightly creamy, average carbonation. Not sure if this is an old bottle or people are just overrating this. A very nice citrusy IPA with a surprisingly dry finish for a Midwest pale. I like this. It’s pretty bitter.

A long lost whale finally obtained, oh thank you oh so much, Drew!
This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-hazy but mostly transparent soft golden color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated gently. Leaves a messy lacing all around.
The smell had a lush sweet citrus hops up front allowing a delicate sweet malt underneath.
The taste was fully bittersweet with an added sweet grassy sweetness roaming underneath. Light sticky citrus aftertaste. Semi-dry sweet citrus finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a solid sessionability about it. Carbonation feels good allowing a nice bitterness to hit appropriately.
Overall, whale slain, and totally worthy of having again, a top notch AIPA that I know I would have again if I could ever get my hands on again. jflopsu (1659) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - FEB 25, 2016
Pours a light gold with white head. Has a strong citrus/floral hop bomb aroma. A strong citrus hope taste with floral notes, pine, and sweet honey. A bitter hop aftertaste but not overwhelming as some citrus, pine and honey also linger. MattyKakes (117) - Virginia, USA - JAN 3, 2016
Nice fruity juicy citrus IPA. Grapefruit Orange dank hop scent and flavor. Delicious.?? rudolf (2360) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JAN 2, 2016
Clear gold, white head. Nose is orange, pine, some melon, strawberry, some alcohol, a little clay like malt. Flavor is pine, light astringency mingling with orange pith, honey, melon. Solid lingering bitterness. koleminer20 (3798) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - DEC 28, 2015
12 oz bottle from a trade a while ago, since I have a ton of IPAs to drink. The pour is a nice light golden orange, a bit foggy, with a nice white head and some nice lace. The aroma is a lighter tropical fruit that is well balanced. There is a nice sweet, not bitter, hop that shows up without any of the resounding resin and bitter. The flavor is a little lacking. It's got a nice fruitiness to it, but there isn't a big punch here. I'd like to see some more pine or resin. But the fruits are pretty good. The mouth feel is a bit syrupy and a little undercarbonated. The aftertaste is lingeringly sweet tropical fruit.
