Tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy amber with a beige head. Malty aroma. Med body. It’s malty with a little hop. Chocolate note I seem to find in ambers. Not my thing.

"as with all their beers, this one was a bit of a letdown. not a whole lot to report on here...slightly substandard malt and hop aromas and flavor. Nothing bad, but really nothing good. re-rate 6/09: 4th best of the 8 they were serving...doesn’t really say a whole lot. not BAD, but not worth the price of a pint. darker than usual."

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2003 This beer really rocks. The color is a beautiful Mohogany/Amber. The aroma is very malty and very fruity. Both really come through in the flavor as well. Very malty with a big fruity flavor (plums), but not sweet. The finish is crisp and clean. Just a terrific amber ale.

Draft. Reddish-amber beer with a cream head. Malt aroma. Malt and light citrus flavor. Medium bodied. Malt sand light citrus lingers.

Not much aroma, looks nice. Flavor is oky, a little frothy. More malty than what I like, but good for my wife.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2015 Pint on tap at the Peppermill’s Bimini Restaurant. Clear copper with a lasting disc of foam. Aroma is toast, toffee and a bit of toasted nut. Tastes of caramel, toasted pecan, spicy citrus and hint of dry cocoa. Light-medium body has a pleasant medium carbonation and a nice balance.

On tap at brewery. Clear dark amber with a fizzy white head. Faint malty aroma. Malty cereal grain taste with light citrus notes. Light bodied palate.

Tap at the brewpub. The body was dark copper with a thick khaki colored head. The aroma was almonds and toast along with some oranges. The taste was walnus with some toast and citrus. A decent brew, but a little boring.

nickd717 (4886) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAR 22, 2010
Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear medium amber with nice white head and good lacing. Aroma is mostly malty and caramelly without too much hop presence. Flavor is mainly caramel malt, along with a little roastiness and mild citrusy hops. A little butterscotch. Medium body with average carbonation and a pretty standard non-hoppy amber ale mouthfeel. Overall, meh, pretty average. Drinkable I guess.
