3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On Tap at The Brewhouse. Pours a transparent golden amber color, thin white head that dissipated fairly quickly. Aroma is all hops, gently floral and a hint of pine. Nicely bitter flavor, there is some sweetness from the malts but the hops (definitely cascades) more than make up for it. A little sticky in the mouth. Enjoyed drinking this one.
On tap at the brewery. Light amber color. Mild aroma. No bitterness. Medium body. Not much flavor. Low carbonation. Meh. Marheb (5749) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 13, 2015
DedicatedToFun (4000) - Santa Monica, California, USA - JUN 24, 2013

The pour is a clear orange pour with a white head. A sweet malt aroma of bread and biscuit. Some mild citrus, floral, and grassy hops. A hint of peach on the finish. The flavor is quite sweet for an American pale. Mostly bread and biscuit malt with some soft floral hop flavors and a bit of orange peel. Light grass notes and very mild bitterness.

On tap at the brewpub (listed at 4,9% for this batch). Pours with a large, white head that leaves great lacing and lasts a long time. Weak aroma. Taste is watery, a bit astringent, bitter and maybe a bit nutty. Fizzy. SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - APR 18, 2008
UPDATED: APR 21, 2009 Draught at the brewpub, 5.3%abv. Gold color with a medium head. Nice, hoppy aroma, not to far from their IPA. Similar hoppiness in the flavor, without much malt complexity; quite herbal and piney, but more drinkable because it doesn’t have as much bitterness and rough herbal hops as the IPA. Medium and smooth. Pretty nice pale ale.
Rerate: Had to bump this a couple points because it really has a great balance for a west-coast pale ale. Light toasty malt and a nice citrus and spice hop bite that balances well. If only their IPA could have this kind of balance but ramp everything up a couple of notches.
