bottle split with the wife the other night. pours a hazy golden orange with a slightly pink tinted head. very funky looking pours like a total yeast cake. nose has some berries. taste has some berry and mango, balanced but the brett adds zero.
Bottle courtesy of kiefdog. Cheers, my friend. Pours a hazy pink with a fluffy white head. Nose is big berry, slight mango, mild earth, pepper, sage?, and more berry. Flavor is similar with big berry, mild yeast, mild pepper, some earth, mild fruit, and a dry finish. Medium in body for a saison and lingering Brett and berry. Nice saison overall. April 27th, 2014 - Named after a GRE word, I had to go for Briery’s Tumescence, and my curiosity was immediately rewarded at the pour. Liquid marmalade pours out of the glass, thick and practically glowing with a deep, caramel orange-brown, and practically no head to speak of. The aroma begins with strawberry shortcake and transitions to cream, and then from there to masticated strawberry and rhubarb - a delicate dessert on the nose. The flavor is carbonated like so many small, buzzing bubbles, with a thin, light palate. The softness of the mouthfeel allows like touches of brett to come through, as well as touches of acidity. This is a delicate beer, but with tender drinking it has a lot to offer, even as a dessert course. gyllenbock (9100) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 6, 2016
Bottle at City Beer. Hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma and taste of peach, some strawberries, light malt and some light funk. SirLimpsalot (4162) - SWEDEN - MAR 6, 2016
@ City Beer 16-3-6: Tydlig fruktig ton av vinbär och persika. Smaken är trevlig frisk med en kanske något tunn eftersmak. Lite torr munnkänsla. RafeAU (629) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 23, 2015

A steady, somewhat careful pour into my teku glass produces a three finger thick, pale amber tinged, tan colored head. The beer is a murky, red amber color that shows a hazy, lighter version of the same when held up to the light. The aroma definitely smells of mangoes, and bright raspberry notes; these are definitely the dominant notes here. There is a supporting, pale malt character that provides a light, whole grain cracker / sunbaked-straw character. There is perhaps a touch of mustiness here, but a distinct Brett character really doesn’t come through; perhaps it just helps to boost the fruit character.
Dry, fruity, fairly effervescent, and fairly light bodied, the beer has a light tartness that seems more fruit derived than anything. There is a touch of a phenolic, Brettanomyces bite to the finish, which serves as a balance the the tropically floral, mist of mango and raspberry notes found in this beer. Towards the finish there is a touch of dried straw, and maybe a bit of rounded pale grain flavors, but the malt character is quite light overall here.
This beer is much more fruit focused than I was expecting from a beer of this strength; really though, it is not that the mango or raspberry are overly expressive, it is just that the base malt character is so subtle; this comes off as more of a blended fruit wine that is fermented with a "clean" Brettanomyces strain than a beer. Not bad, but for some reason it leaves me looking for more beer character.
Bottle with friends. Lots of fruity and spicy aromas and flavors. More raspberry than mango, or maybe its just me. Pretty good stuff.
Bacterial (2986) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - APR 23, 2015
Hazy light orange pour with a white head. Fruity nose. Muddled taste. Malt with some fruit. Meh.
