On tap at Whole Foods in Market Square, Fairfax, VA.
Clear. Dark gold with a small, fine near-white head and good lacing.
Aroma of sugar, assorted fruit, pineapple, yeast and ginger.
Taste of ginger, sugar, caramel, pineapple, apples and a variety of other fruit.
Full/medium body and high/medium carbonization.
Interesting and with depth, but a bit too sweet with over-the-top fruit.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2013 It’s a surprisingly disappointing beer. The overall taste was placed lower because I felt a little too much pineapple came through (for my taste. The girls in our contingent really enjoyed it). It definitely comes through, and that’s a good thing. Will make me try other Breury selections. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 6, 2012
Draft at Haymarket. Pours hazed gold with white head. Aroma of sweet candy sugar and pils malt, some lychee fruit and honeydew. Flavors are really sweet candy sugar, lychee and pinneapple juice, some spicy yeast and booze finish. Very sweet tripel. Yuck. kegbear (436) - Orange, California, USA - NOV 3, 2012
On Cask at The Bruery. This cask version of 5 Golden Rings is similar to the normal version except is has strong ginger aroma and flavor. I liker the regular version better. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - NOV 2, 2012
Hazy golden orange pour with a small white head. Very strong ginger aroma. Some pineapple, but nowhere near the pungency of the ginger. Some sweet sugar, fruit esters, and mild alcohol. A bit of yeast, lots of sugar, and tons of ginger on the palate. Sweet dehydrated pineapple, some bread, and pears. A hint of apple, light tartness, and a fair amount of alcohol. Really heavy and thick on the tongue.
