Snojerk321 (2960) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 5, 2010
Sample at Woodshop. Forgot who popped this, but thanks for doing so. Pours a muddy peach color with a very thin off white ring. Nose was big on canned yams, bourbon and baking spices. Flavor was sweet potato pie, bourbon and again some baking spices. A nice thought, I think the base beer is too sweet as it is.... MeadMe (1661) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - MAR 2, 2010
Big Thanks to jdubfl for popping the top on this one.
A: Pours a nice deep shade of dark brown with a small off white head. No real retention or lace noted.
S: Aroms of candied yams, xmas spice, and lots and lots of barrel.
T: The yams are there for sure with hints of pumpkin pie spice. Sweet Molasses comes through along with very subtle chocolate malt. The barrel is huge in this beer. It provides light vanilla and oak, and lots and lots of booze.
M: Medium in body, smooth, rather soft in carbonation.
D: Pretty good, to be honest I think I like the non barreled version better though. Skinnyviking (9570) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 20, 2010
Bottle. Low fluffy and quickly disappearing light brown head. Hazy dark brown body. Sweet spicy aroma with notes of plum raisine and prunes. Sweet caramel flavor with plum pruines and raisin. Low carbonation. Long sweet aftertaste. A bit too sweet for my taste. Alcohol very well hidden though. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 15, 2010
A: Very, very dark brown with about one finger of an off white head.
S: Smells like Thanksgiving in a glass. Tons, and tons of yams and quite a bit of maple syrup. Vanilla from the barrels, and booze.
T: The warmth and lack of carbonation make the booze really come out in this one. After the initially booziness passes, the yam and maple flavors really shine through. On the finish, there is a very nice spice flavor which, again, is reminiscent of a Thanksgiving meal.
M: Warm, flat (as was advertised), sticky, boozy, and very full bodied.
D: The booze takes a bit of getting used to, but the flavors of this are just fantastic.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2010 Dark brown with a small ring of foam leaving some rather impressive lazing on the snifter. Very spicy and intese aroma of bourbon and some knäckebröd. Flavor is intense bourbon, lots of spices (too many, yes) and some caramell and brownish odd malts. Ends on a lingering sweet and spicy note with prominent bourbon. Scary beer. travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 9, 2010
Bottle thanks to bman1113vr. The smell is caramel, maple, sweet, maple syrup, wood, and good. The look is clear, amber in colored, and has a beige colored head. The taste is maple syrup, wood, alcohol, sweet, and good. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 31, 2010
Huge thanks to TampaBrew for bringing this one. Pours red-brown with an off-white head. Nose is bourbon, vanilla, yam, whiskey, malt, brown sugar, and maple with a tang of booze burn. Flavor is yam all over, caramel, malt, bourbon, brown sugar, allspice, cinnamon, vanilla, and some barely noticeable booziness. For a 10% beer this one is deceivingly balanced towards the malt and sweetness leaving booze almost indiscernible. Another great Bruery beer. 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 20, 2010
Thanks pantanap! Pours a murky dull darker brown with a sudsy small head. Love the aroma, sweet maple, rich but smooth, winter spices, the sweet yam thing is very cool, very yammy. Flavor follows but is a bit duller, seemingly watered down, sharp maple almost cloying, not as yammy as the aroma. I just like to say yammy. Medium bodied, watery, no carbonation. kiefdog (1826) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 18, 2010
Bottle courtesy of jdubfl. Pours a cola brown color with reddish highlights and thin white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of yams, bourbon, vanilla, oak, toasted coconut, caramel. Flavor is sweet and malty with similar notes of bourbon, candy sugar, yams, caramel, vanilla, oak, goodness. Medium body with a sweet boozy finish. Interesting ale.
