COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is made in the pumpkin beer tradition, except instead of pumpkins we used yams, and lots of them! A big Belgian-style brown ale of 10% ABV, this one is bringing pumpkin beers (or yam beers) into new territory.

On tap. Pours an opaque brownish autumn with a thin beige head and light lacing. Aroma is yeast dominant with some maple. Flavor is cola, maple, alcohol, yeast. Leaves more of a citrus aftertaste. Not bad, certainly different.

750 mL. Orange brow with a quickly fading head. Belgian yeast, clove, peanut shells, dried leaves and brown sugar. Lightly sweet with a dry earthy taste. Medium body.

MissAnthropic (68) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 28, 2016
Thin foam, murky brown with a surprisingly subtle nose of malt and chocolate. Palate is mild and clean for the color. The maple is extremely understated and the yam comes out stronger. It’s a good solid brown ale with a nice back note of the title flavours but they are not strong and if you’re looking for a maple bomb it’s not this.

Dark amber/cider color; Medium body; Aroma of sweet malt, ginger/spice, caramel, & some pumpkin; Flavor of sweet malt, pumpkin, caramel/syrup, nutmeg, cinnamon, and some dark fruit; Warm finish; Quite sweet - but pretty decent.

Rating #2122 - 2015.10.10 - Bottle shared with friends and foes @revolutionyeg 10%. No pumpkins for this brew, it’s a yammajamma. Clear, amber pour with a hint of cloudiness. Aroma is yeast, brown sugar, orange zest. Taste is brown sugar, toffee malts, grains, mild spiciness. Delicious, like a PSL quad.

Bottle, shared with Robbie. Burnt orange with a low cream coloured head that retains poorly. Burnt sugars (maple?), spices, estery yeast, sweet with a warming finish. Not picking up yams or pumpkin, more like a spicy Abt/Quad.

(bottle) clear very bright reddish amber colour with a small beige head; aroma of stewed fruit, candy, spice; smooth palate; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish; very nice

Sampled at the Societe Party 2016. It poured a dark mahogany color with a tan head. The aroma was of spices, malts, pumpkin, wood and caramel. The taste was similar to the aroma with some yams, malts, caramel, spices and syrup. Interesting.

Draft 10 oz pour at Malt and Vine. Paid almost as much for this as the bottle is, because I’m an idiot. Bright cloudy orange pour with a thin fizz head. Big time sweet aroma with nape and vanilla. Sugar sweet, maple, brown sugar, and a cool finish. Interesting.
