Another brand new sour ale! Beauregarde is our first ever use of blueberries and we couldn’t be happier with how this beer turned out. We added an incredible amount of fruit to our barrel aged, sour blonde ale and the result is just as expected. A lovely shade of reddish purple with flavors of tart blueberries, just in time for summer. Perfect along side a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

4 aug 2013, tap at the Bruery. Red, clear, no bubbles. Nose is sour cherries/raspberries and cobwebs. Thin body and mildly fizzy. Tart cherries, some cobwebs, maybe some blueberries that add some sweetness. But I'd never have said there were blueberries. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours drop red with a purple tint and a thin head. The nose is cherry, raspberry, lemon, light blueberry and funk. The taste is high sweet and sour, low to no bitter. The texture is crisp and clean, body is light and finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Deep reddish purple pour, crystal clear, with a tinted pinkish purpish head. Quite sour, blueberry, oak, acidic vinegar, berry, plum, and some light funk. A nice sour, a bit too pungent to be easily drinkable though.

A- pours a cherry red with a shift towards purple with one finger of pink head and no lacing. S- aroma is relatively uneventful with notes of blueberry pie, tart berries, barnyard, musty farm house, astringent, lots of vinegar, lemon and quiet brown sugar. M- acidic and tart on the strong palate with a medium, tacky body and good carbonation. T- tart berry lemonade overrides most other notes. Blueberries and unripe blackberries follow through in the middle. Vinegar fills in the middle and end. Some white sugar underneath as well. Dry earthiness, vinegar and muddled berry drive the bitter and sustained aftertaste. Pretty simple overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reserve Society 2013, 75CL enjoyed with the GF.

A - Really nice clarity at fridge temp, pours with an effervescent head that escapes pretty fast. Blueberry ruby tones are clear.

S - Smells very sour, not Mother Funker sour but pretty tart and I don’t get much fruit on the nose.

T - There’s enough blueberry taste to make this enjoyable but if you’re looking for something like Blabaer or even Cascade Blueberry, this isn’t it. I would make this closer to Upland’s Blueberry sour. Tart, mildly acetic, blueberry notes and a hint of wood. I would say more plum than blueberry.

M - Nice carbonation on the mouth swish and a bit of fecal taste sort of comes out of nowhere which isn’t ideal at all

O - Decent beer, nice shared maybe 4 ways and not 2 ways. I might have bought too much of this. Anyone wanna trade?

On tap at the tasting room. Pours a hazy purple with small but assertive pink head. Aroma is acid and slight berry with some cinnamon and spice thing going on. Taste is more acetic sour with some very, very light blueberry notes here and there. Again the spice thing came into play and ultimately not that blueberry. I’m not sure if I like blueberry sours as the last three to four have not been good to me.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy light purple with small frothy white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is sour fruit , oak, and funk. Thin mouthfeel with nice sourness and light blueberry and nice tartness in the finish. Very good.

Hazy purple pour with a fizzy pink head. Nice blueberry and lemon aromas. Very sour. Some hints of red wine vinegar, oak, grass, and straw. Nice mustiness, too. Good berry flavor. Mildly sweet and heavily sour. Lemon, blueberry, and grass. Oak, some straw, vanilla, and a light funk. Quite dry and highly acidic.
