Another brand new sour ale! Beauregarde is our first ever use of blueberries and we couldn’t be happier with how this beer turned out. We added an incredible amount of fruit to our barrel aged, sour blonde ale and the result is just as expected. A lovely shade of reddish purple with flavors of tart blueberries, just in time for summer. Perfect along side a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

Tasting at Bruce’s new pad. Very hazy reddish mauve beer with a tidy lilac coloured head! Palate is light and crisp. Light sherbet sourness. Seltzer minerals. Touch of lemon and light blueberry fruits on the finish. Overall quite sherbet lemon in character.

Bottle at home with friends. Pour is hazy purple-red with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Fruity, raspberry, tannic, woody, blueberry, peachy, and cheesy aroma. Taste is big sour fruity, raspberries, strawberries, oaky, vinegary, lightly grassy, and peachy with a big sour finish. Light body with soft carbonation. Really nice sour.

Bottle @ Matt’s house from our Reserve Society membership. Pours a hazy maroon appearance with a white head. Fairly bright blueberry, acetic, oaky, vanilla aroma. Actually quite tart blueberry, woody, light vinegar, vanilla, a bit funky flavor that finishes dry and sour. Pretty tasty.

Bottle shared by a friend. Pours a clear bluish red color with a medium pink head. Aroma consisting of sour fruit, peppery yeast, blueberry and oak. Berry flavor up front along with some malty sweetness, giving way to some oakiness before a sour finish.

750ml bottle thanks to stawn, thanks man! Shared at a local tasting, pours a dark red almost purple like with an off white head, sure looks pretty cool, the aroma has a nice amount of sourness and fruit with some funk mixed in, the flavor has a fruity front end where the blueberries kick in with a funky finish, not too much but just enough fruit and funk mixed together, nice mouthfeel, really dug this one.

Big thanks to tectactoe. great look, pours looking like pink lemonade. Heavy tart upfront and quickly fades. Deep dark fruits afterwards.

Bottle at Bruce’s, thanks to Ken. It pours hazy reddish-purple with a small white head. The nose is wood, juicy berry, jammy, vanilla, coconut and mild acidity. The taste is tart, acidic, jammy, sherbet, lemon, lime, wood and grape skin with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Crisp, juicy and tart, but perhaps a bit too acidic. Tasty though.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2015 Bottle: Complete opaque fuchsia & indigo with a pink tinted head that pops and fizzles away in moments. Aroma is vinegar, sour lemon, and lightly sweet & tart blueberry notes. Mildly acidic, smells very tart & fruity. Lacto notes, too. Taste is blueberry, cherry skins, and lemon fresh up front with a very light graininess. Mild sweetness mid-palate. Tartness grows heavy in the finish with lots of vinegar notes. Finish is very sour & puckering with a light bit of oak and cotton funk. Dry, fruity aftertaste. Lovely stuff for sourheads like me.
