Had in a flight with the same base beer but different yeast strains at the brewery. The Trappist yeast presented spicy with traditional Belgian characteristics. Nice sweet malts with a pronounced spicy finish.

Pours clear pale yellow with a thick white head. The nose is less spicy than the other strains, nice bits of dark fruit, some tropical, Belgian candy sugar, and beets. The taste is high sweet and low bitter with a more sweet finish. The texture is crisp and clean, body is medium and finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A light spice to the aroma. The spice on this one is nearer to the end with a plainer body. Yet it has the same great tingly finish.

Tap in the tasting room. Pours hazy golden yellow with a medium white head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is wheat, yeast, touch of peppery spice, very faint banana. Flavor is yeast, quite zesty bitter, Windex, lightly sweet and an astringent finish. Medium body. Ick. Much prefer the Mikkeller yeast series.

ap at The Bruery. Golden yellow pour with a white head. Banana, sweet malt, bread, floral, and clove. Nice clean flavor and my favorite of the bunch.

JohnnyJ (5562) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Draft at the Bruery. Clear golden pour, with a white head. Sweet malt, banana, pear, nice fruity esters, ground pepper, candy sugar, and light clove spice. One of the better ones, this had a little more "pop" to it and less sweetness (not as dry as the saison though).

brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Clear golden pour with a white head. Apple and pear notes with a slight cider character. Some coriander and clove, white pepper, and a fair amount of yeast. Nice sugar and dough sweetness. The flavor has a touch of citrus along with the apple and pear fruit notes. Some light spice notes and a yeasty finish.
