Big question if that the strong alcoholic flavor is part of its complexity or not, I think it is a bit overloaded with alcohol. Also little bit thinner than expected, and overly sweet. Flavor profile is excellent for a dessert beer, raisin, sugar syrup, chocolate, maybe vanilla. Unique experience but has its drawbacks. mariuspoenari (2692) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAR 11, 2017
Bottle shared at the March THT at Kwartje. Very dark mahogany pour with no head. Notes of bourbon, caramel, toffee, roasted malts, light coffee and a ton of alcohol. Smooth texture, really nice flavours, but the alcohol is just too much. sjogro (4135) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAR 11, 2017
Sampled from bottle at THT March at Kwartje. Courtesy of mariuspoenari, thanks! Black with no head. Big sweet roasted chocolate malts. Marzipan. Alcoholic as fk. Dried dark fruits. Crushed human skulls. I dont know. A different level of aromas cause of the alcohol. Bittersweet finish. The hell. It’s nice, but I dislike how strong it is. The.END.is.Near. UPDATED: MAR 11, 2017 Bottle shared at THT. Black with small dark beige head. Marzipan, toffee, sweet chocolate, very strong hot alcohol, fudge, raisins, figs, brown sugar. Quite sweet and alcoholic bitterness. Over medium bodied. Nice but crazy alcoholic. Why do they put this in big bottles like this? You’d need like 10 people at least to properly share it. Bottle shared at the March THT. Pours black with a small tan head. Super sweet, boozy alcohol, sweet milk chocolate, maple, milk chocolate. So boozy. Full body, low carbonation. Heavy sweet, medium bitter.

Bottleshare: pours black with a small head. Aroma is molasses, liqueur, toffee, chocolate, cake. Taste is quite sweet with light hoppiness over at the end. High complexity. Very large. Boozy aftertaste. Grows hair on your chin. PotjeBier (3346) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 14, 2017
Bottle, shared at a tasting in Tokyo on 1/8/17. 2016 issue. Color is very dark, but not quite black/opaque. Off white head, not much. Aroma’s: berries, sweetish, alcohol, whiskey. Retronasal it’s sweetish, alcohol, molasses. Flavor is moderate to full sweet, alcohol. Strong alcohol feel obviously, but not overly so. Medium to full bodied (I would have expected it to be syruppy, but no). Finishes with some roast and some bitterness. Didn’t quite live up to the expectations, but I heard this issue is not the best. Hopefully my 2012 and 2014 bottles are better. Christos (5777) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - JAN 4, 2017

Really good. beer_queue (140) - California, USA - DEC 29, 2016
Pours black/dark brown—light does shine thru. Aromas are dominated by sweet bourbon notes; cherries, dried dark fruits, molasses, licorice, tobacco. Smells a lot like a bourbon cocktail! Tastes are led by bourbon and dried fruits. Middle of the mouth features a bit of cocoa, fruit syrup, & tart dark cherries (Luxardo). Booze present from start to finish but mostly stands out at the end. Becomes incredibly vinous once it warms up (dessert wine). Crazy hot on the tongue with a long finish. Sticky, flat, and a medium body. Overall an amazing, extreme beer; one hell of an experience!
