First of all this has a scent reminiscent of the Sam Adams triple bock. I must say that while that beer is very good, it is a bit much. I will not say that about the Black Tuesday. It has a very nice blend of flavors. I cant give it a perfect rating because I wont do that for any beer. This is as close to perfect I can remember having though. Absolutely amazing and I just drank a westvleteren 12 before this. I would put this above the westvleteren. If you are fortunate enough to come across this GET IT!

Pours a clear brownish black with a head of beige bubbly foam. The nose is super bourbon forward and boozy. Rich sweet chocolate malt, boozy chocolate and a boozy aftertaste. Mouthfeel is creamy. Damn good but what a crazy bourbon forward concoction..

Bottle pour at ACBF2017, courtesy of Dutch Untappd crew (thanks!). Pours dark brown with brown head. Roasted malts, chocolate, licorice, dark fruit, bourbon. Sweet. Oily. Complex. Quite warming, some alcohol is present, but I guess thats expected. Full bodied.

This is review of 2014 vintage Pours pitch black body, head is 1/4th of an inch and tan. Smells of port wine, sweet bourbon, charred oak and a bit of chocolate syrup. Honestly, if I was blind folded and given this beer to smell, dont think my first guess would be that this is a beer. Seriously this beer smells like a port wine thats been sitting in bourbon barrels for 6 months. Taste is of chocolate sauce, burnt black malt, charred oak, something slightly bitter that I cant put my finger on. Tons of sweetness continues as beer warms, like port but even more. Hops arent really present, alcohol is definitely there, but not terrible for almost 20% abv. Mouthfeel is ridiculous, almost syrup like. Carbonation levels are good but unfortunately head is pretty non existent. Alcohol leaves a slight burn on the roof of my mouth, which I find nice. Overall this beer was at the top of my list to obtain after having it numerous times at Gabf. Love it for its uniqueness, nothing besides utiopias compares to mouthfeel and flavor. Despite being so high in alcohol there was a smoothness to it that you dont find in a lot of extreme stouts. Would buy again

Big question if that the strong alcoholic flavor is part of its complexity or not, I think it is a bit overloaded with alcohol. Also little bit thinner than expected, and overly sweet. Flavor profile is excellent for a dessert beer, raisin, sugar syrup, chocolate, maybe vanilla. Unique experience but has its drawbacks.

Bottle shared at the March THT at Kwartje. Very dark mahogany pour with no head. Notes of bourbon, caramel, toffee, roasted malts, light coffee and a ton of alcohol. Smooth texture, really nice flavours, but the alcohol is just too much.

Sampled from bottle at THT March at Kwartje. Courtesy of mariuspoenari, thanks! Black with no head. Big sweet roasted chocolate malts. Marzipan. Alcoholic as fk. Dried dark fruits. Crushed human skulls. I dont know. A different level of aromas cause of the alcohol. Bittersweet finish. The hell. Its nice, but I dislike how strong it is. The.END.is.Near.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2017 Bottle shared at THT. Black with small dark beige head. Marzipan, toffee, sweet chocolate, very strong hot alcohol, fudge, raisins, figs, brown sugar. Quite sweet and alcoholic bitterness. Over medium bodied. Nice but crazy alcoholic. Why do they put this in big bottles like this? Youd need like 10 people at least to properly share it.

Bottleshare: pours black with a small head. Aroma is molasses, liqueur, toffee, chocolate, cake. Taste is quite sweet with light hoppiness over at the end. High complexity. Very large. Boozy aftertaste. Grows hair on your chin.
