Imperial Witbier, 8% ABV, sour mashed 1-2 days, and fermented with a blend of Berliner Weisse culture and Belgian Witbier yeast. The beer is barrel fermented in large red wine barrels (132 gal. barrels). Raspberries are added to the beer towards the end of fermentation directly to the barrel, and aged on the raspberries for a minimum of 1 month. The Berliner culture contains souring bacteria and the raspberries will add acidity to the beer. Brewed to commemorate Bottleworks 12th Anniversary.
Originally brewed in 2011. Rebrewed in 2013.

Bottle 750ml. Pours blond with low white head. Quite hazy. Aroma is of apricots, perfume, fruits, wine. Taste is of fruits, flowers, sourness. Palate: Light-medium body. Low carbonation. Overall: Good. Perfumy. Fruity, refreshing.

ABUSEDGOAT (2963) - California, USA - JAN 19, 2014
Hazy golden color, moderate head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is funk, lemon, barnyard action, grass, clove. Medium to light bodied, moderate tartness. Didn’t really catch a raspberry flavor.

Great stuff. Light lemony spritzy character with a twinge of blueberry juice. Some hay like traits. Great.

bottleforager (3211) - Gray, Maine, USA - JAN 13, 2014
Pours a slightly hazy golden color with two fingers of tight fizzy white foam. The nose is foggy with grainy cream of wheat, lemon, sweet tarts and some light underlying unripe raspberry and floral notes. The palate is light and refreshing with lots of funky raspberry mingling with grainy wheat, a trace of booze, more of that strange floral influence. Interesting brew.

ICEatALAMO (1358) - Troy, Michigan, USA - JAN 11, 2014
Bottle. The pour is a hazy orangish yellow. The aroma i mainly sour. The taste is a muddy vinegar taste. Not my style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is light golden amber, mostly transparent with a fairly tight white head. No red in the appearance, but there is plenty of raspberry in the nose. Its fleshy but not super bright, there is a hint of barrel and a touch of leathery bret. Taste is little brighter raspberry with a fair bit of lacto. Finish is highly carbonated and muddles the flavor in back a little with a touch of sulfer. Soft creamy body and actually pretty dry.

deekyn (1459) - San Francisco, California, USA - JAN 6, 2014
A - pours hazy light apricot with beaten egg white head with sticky lacing. S - it's refreshing to find a bruery beer that isn't the same as all the rest. Aromas of wheat, yeast and coriander. At first glance it smells like a yeasty musty wit. Raspberries and subtle wine notes come after a swirl of the glass. M - light fluffy and just the right amount of tart. A nice framboise variant. T - tart lemon and raspberries up front. The palate is sweet raspberry jam, funky and musty yeasty wheat goodness. end is lingering raspberries and spice. O - a nice show from the bruery. 3.8

On tap at The Bruery mercy-poured into a taster after I pleaded with the bartender to give me a pass on the "bring a toy" rule they were using to restrict access to a few choice beers. Didn’t hurt that I bought a couple of bottles, too. Appearance is pink-orange with a white collar. Aroma is funky, lactic, oaky, citrus, grape skin, raspberries. Taste is tart berries, acidic, and funky to open. Light fruit sweetness and oak bitterness supply some balance. Medium bodied, thin crisp texture, lively carbonation, dry abrupt finish.

Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Nice sharp tart fruity base, medium acidity, light fruit sweetness, rhubarb and berries, faint musty funk, and dry lingering tartness. Good stuff.
