Imperial Witbier, 8% ABV, sour mashed 1-2 days, and fermented with a blend of Berliner Weisse culture and Belgian Witbier yeast. The beer is barrel fermented in large red wine barrels (132 gal. barrels). Raspberries are added to the beer towards the end of fermentation directly to the barrel, and aged on the raspberries for a minimum of 1 month. The Berliner culture contains souring bacteria and the raspberries will add acidity to the beer. Brewed to commemorate Bottleworks 12th Anniversary.
Originally brewed in 2011. Rebrewed in 2013.

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to our Ken, 09/12/13. Hazed orange with a thin off white pond. Nose is apple skins, tarte peach, citric straw, dank, musty draws, wood splinters. Taste comprises soured mandarin, tarte peach, citric straw, light dankness, lemon rind, lactic tang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy closure with light tarte notes. Decent easy drinking sour.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours cloudy golden-orange with a small white head. The nose is earthy, must, toast, wood damp leaf, light spice, funk and brett. The taste is tart, earth, wood, sour orange, tangerine, prickly sherbet, alcohol, some acidity, berry, pomello and orange squash with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Fairly laid back and easy drinking for a bruery beer. Tasty.

Bottle cheers to Kenny. Pours bright orange with a medium, firm white head. Lacey. Nose is lemon tang forward, heavy apricot marmalade, big tropical fruits - mandarin, and mango, touch piney and moderately funky. Fruity and sour. Taste is tropical forward with emphasis on pineapple and passionfruit sweetness. Quite juicy. A little sugary and sourness is easy going. Very tropical. I like it

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - big thanks to K-Dog. Pours sunny orange-gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds white grape, some tangy mandarin orange. Medium sweet flavor with bright citrus, pear, white grapes, tangerine. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Clean finish, lightly warming, some lemony tang, more white grapes, melon. Very nice.

Bottle shared @ Dak’s Black Friday tasting. Murky straw-colored pour with a decent ivory crown. Funky, tart unripened raspberries, acidic, milky, earthy, grassy, sour. Pretty solid brew.

A nice murky straw pour. Very pleasant pretty funk with barnyardy notes and delicious bready tones. Really good.

tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - NOV 16, 2013
Bottle, shared by Michael, thanks! Pour is hazy gold, white head, decent retention. Aroma of citrus, wheat, salt, light funk, raspberry. Taste is tart, citrus, peach, raspberry, a bit salty. Palate is light, effervescent, tart finish. Good.

boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 12, 2013
Bottle (thanks to goodbyeohio for sharing)... Poured vibrant, cloudy, pale, pastel-yellow with a moderate white head. Tart, acidic, nice raspberry character with a mild oak presence. Nice yeast flavor and fruity esters with lactic bacteria as the showcase. As it warmed the fruit flavors sort of mellowed and it started to get even more sour.

rxeight (3084) - Illinois, USA - NOV 9, 2013
Light yellow pour. Very sour. All sour. No funk. High carbonation. Thicker than most sours.

Had this at the RB Pgh Halloween Spook-tacular Tasting/Drunkfest fall 2013, nice time at Hornydevil’s place, thanks James & Michelle! Big thanks to beerman6686 Dan for this rockin beer. Funky aroma. Slightly hazy pale yello with a slight tint of brown. Yes, some tartness in there but not too much. It does have some alky attributes forward. Has a warming effect. Coats your mouth and goes down the gullet with the geratest of eaze. Yes that farmy thing is wrapping itself around the mouth. Could do with a little fewer spices.
