COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Witbier, 8% ABV, sour mashed 1-2 days, and fermented with a blend of Berliner Weisse culture and Belgian Witbier yeast. The beer is barrel fermented in large red wine barrels (132 gal. barrels). Raspberries are added to the beer towards the end of fermentation directly to the barrel, and aged on the raspberries for a minimum of 1 month. The Berliner culture contains souring bacteria and the raspberries will add acidity to the beer. Brewed to commemorate Bottleworks 12th Anniversary.
Originally brewed in 2011. Rebrewed in 2013.

750, capped. Pours a murky pale amber with a scant white ring of film. Big sharp dry minerally nose with light dancing fruit showing. Creamy medium body with prickly carb. Minerally dry mid palate with soft lemon and tangerine notes. Long tangy tart and dry minerally finish.

Bottle. Nice slightly fruity Berliner, just a bit sweet. Exceptionally clear and bright for a fruity wit beer, lively too. Pair it with acidic foods and it shines.

Thanks Matt! Pours a nice clouded yellow with an etched surface of whites. Smells like a Wit, not really getting thefruit in the nose. Flavor is sour, with vitamin, some cherry and raspberry. A little yogurt character. Medium with hi carb and a semi dry, but wetting finish. I like, glad to have another beer.

Very good drinking beer, thanks to Liam. Blond, perfect sourness without erasing the palate. You would think a 6% beer. Fresh tasting.

Pours golden apricot in color with a small bubbly white head. The aroma brings warming citrus orange and light candy like yeast, nice, with the tiniest bit of funk ever. The flavor brings some raspberries and then immediately tart hitting in a smooth manner on the tongue. You get such a subtle wine barrel flavor, red wine for sure, that settles so easily as well on the palate.

750ml thanks to Camo!! Pours a hazy hay color with an orange hint. Nose is sour raspberries with hints of grassy farmland and a slight funk. Taste is similar with elements of oak, raspberry, grass, and wine grape. The finish really sinks it in, but gently, with a sour red wine flavor floating on top of everything else. Quite nicely done.

Bottle shared by oRos at the California 10K event. Looks like a Berliner Weiss. Aroma of sour celery. Med minus body. Flavor is lightly sour raspberry with something veg. It’s working very well.
