Nose is dark fruit rinds, dates, earthy, mellow barrel, raisins.
Taste comprises tangy red berry, light bourbon soak, Xmas cake, dried fruits, light peppery spice.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the close.

Bottle shared at Ratebeer awards show. 30/01/2016. Huges thanks to whomever brought it. A viscous hazed mahogany brown coloured pouer with no head. Sticky. Aroma is spicy, cakey malts, little musty, vanilla, dried fruits, praline. Flavour is composed of sweet cakey and toffee malts, mint dried fruits, salted caraeml , licorice. Bottle share at RBB. Pour is murky brown with a small tan head which fades quickly. Notes of cocoa powder, vanilla extract, roasted nuts, all spice, and a bit of dark fruit. Finish is very boozy with added notes of molasses and toffee.

750 ml bottle sampled at the RB Best Awards. Thanks to whoever shared this one. Pours a hazy deep amber brown color with a small beige ring for a head. Notes of vanilla, caramel, bourbon, brown sugar, cocoa, cake, dark fruits, and toasted nuts. There’s a very slight tang in the flavor. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, boozy mouthfeel. Fun one to try and it’s still very good - although it’s not going to get any better. Bottle at RBWG. It pours a dark brown color with an off white head. The aroma is nutty with some almond-like oxidation notes. Toasted malt. The flavor is very nutty with strong cocoa and nice supporting notes of dark fruit. Fig, dates and maybe some sherry. Another one that seems to have done well with some age. A good sipper. The was a bottle pour while on the RBSG bus. It poured a rich dark brown with a tan head. Nose is very rich with toffee, sugar, bourbon, and wood. Full body. Smooth mouth feel. Flavor is full of spices and toffee. Really really good.
