The mucky brown ale has a pleasant caramel and cinnamon aroma. Alcohol subdued the spicy character and takes away the flavors that were present in the non-barrel aged version. hopscotch (11242) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 4, 2016
Bottle... Hazy caramel-colored pour with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. The aroma is a swirl of liquid caramel, coconut, toasted oak, vanilla and a light ration of Belgian yeast-driven spiciness. Full-bodied and lightly creamy with soft, airy carbonation. The flavor is a collection of tartness, caramel, berries and wooden cask. Lengthy, lightly tart finish. After decanting, there is very little alcohol heat. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler! nimbleprop (8761) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JAN 2, 2016
750ml bottle pours a hazy amber with some cloudy, white head. Nose is booze and spice, honey comb, mild whiskey, apple brandy. Flavor is hot with booze and cinnamon, honey comb, grappa, brandy. Full bodied, boozy finish. Too much, overdone. radagast83 (8476) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - DEC 31, 2015
Bottle at the main DC December Gathering. Poured a hazy brown color with an off-white head. Aroma was lots of woody notes, vanilla. Bourbon. Sugar. Booze. I hadn’t had it when it was fresh, but it was holding up pretty well for what I remember the base beer being. Iphonephan (7287) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - DEC 20, 2015
From a 75 cl bottle at the RateBeer December tasting. Pours a hazy gold with a scant ecru head. Caramel nose. Flavors of butterscotch.

Bottle from Reserve Society, shared at the DC December Gathering #2. Hazy brownish orange with beige head. Aromas of pineapple, bourbon, big alcohol. Tastes of pineapple, bourbon, stone fruit, tropical fruit, caramel. Medium body with a dry finish. Pretty boozy. solidfunk (9407) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - DEC 20, 2015
Lots of caramel here stone light citrus. Light barrel. Very big and possibly too much, but that’s the bruery things. Lots of booze. Bottle shared at tasting. Travlr (26129) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 20, 2015
Bottle courtesy of GenDV138, thanks! Cloudy golden amber color, white head. Aroma has pineapple, citrus, vanilla. Taste is sweet burnt caramel, pineapple, orange peel. Very tasty. BVery (11364) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JUN 19, 2015
Bomber. Murky rich deep orange pour with a small ring head. Pineapple sweetness, wood / barrel, allspice - this is cool. Wouldn’t guess the ABV. Fun beer! fiulijn (21274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 14, 2015
Tasting at Matt’s
Cloudy dull amber color with small head. Aroma of alcohol, rotten fruits, Bourbon. Sweet, incredibly boozy, the Bourbon just crash the party and it makes it worse, a bit herbal, with a final that tastes like saccharin.
Weird, (almost) undrinkable.
