COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cacaonut is a special treat. A rare and secret blend of several different barrel aged beers that we’ve pulled from our cellar along with toasted coconut and cacao nibs from San Francisco’s TCHO.

The inspiration for this beer were the unique flavors of a chocolate dipped coconut macaroon. After polishing off a few of those dense, sweet and delicious, coconut treats, Patrick started thinking through the flavor profiles of some of our favorite barrel aged beers, deciphering a way to replicate the luscious qualities of that favorite treat. Spice, rich toffee, cocoa and tropical notes blend deliciously and delicately in this newest barrel aged addition to our collection.

Tap at The Bruery thanks to t0rin0! Pours a full haze, deep red with minimal foam. Nose is sticky toffee, vanilla, sweet cherry, brandy, rum. Pretty nice, decadent. Taste is big black cherry acid, mildly tart, big booze, toasted coconut comes through. Sour finish. Sticky twizzlers detract. Slightly papery finish with odd acid that works but probably unintended.

Bottle via booooost. Lots of cocoa and pineapple in the nose and flavor. A touch of alcohol burn. Not great. Not bad. Just good.

750 ml bottle Courtesy of BMan1113VR (Thanks Andrew) poured a clear amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of cocoa, caramel, oak, coconut and light vanilla. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, coconut, caramel, light fruitiness and light oak with a smooth lingering cocoa/coconut finish..

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 December 6, 2013 - bottle shared by Brandon. Brownish orange pour with limited head. Aroma was fruity, chocolate, wood and slight coconut. There was also some sourness in there that seemed a bit odd. Taste was oak and alcohol upfront, but then sourness completely takes over. I think this was an effected bottle. Too bad, I was really excited about this. March 22, 2014 - on tap at Bruery tasting room. Muddy brown pour with limited head. Aroma was nice cocoa, bourbon and mild coconut. Taste was consistent with aroma, nicely balanced and easy to drink for a high alcohol beer. Glad I tried this again.

marcus (10575) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 1, 2013
Bottle shared by oRos. Pours murky amber with a tiny beige head and a sourish bourbon and fruit aroma. There is a sour oak and dark malt flavor with some fermented coconut and a warm alcohol trail.

timfoolery (1126) - California, USA - NOV 24, 2013
Bottle from RS. Aroma had some tropical and coconut notes. Flavor was all messed up with tart pineapple and coconut mixed with thin chocolate. Why not just age Black Tuesday in a crap load of coconut. That's what I wanted. This sucks, especially for $30. Not very good beer.

On tap at 10 East. Sweetness dominates both the aroma and the flavor. Vanilla, maple syrup, toasted coconut, bourbon and bread pudding found everywhere. Really tasty, super sweet and it packs a serious punch.

Very average Mose like the salt Weiss. Not a good flavor. For the abv disappoints. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
