RS Exclusive 2013, Paid just under $40 for a few of these via my membership. Received via my trustee, EHammond1 who is a bomb dog! Opened July 4th with friends.

A - Pours pitch black but not oily. It pours a lot like a dark liquor like rum. Ya know, like sticky, sort of moves around the glass like rubbing alcohol, has huge almost arrogant alcohol legs that persist for days. This beer wants you to know that itís not screwing around. No head, almost completely still in the glass.

S - Well, the nose is burnt oak, rubbing alcohol, insanely sweet and chocolate. The chocolate is the biggest thing on the nose. Vanilla is big but itís overshadowed by the booziness.

T - The taste is so much better than the nose. The booze is nowhere near as insane as the nose since the nose is so boozy. The vanilla beans are jerks in how they coat your mouth and stick around for half an hour later. The chocolate is almost like swishing around dark cocoa in your mouth. Bourbon is there but at almost 40 proof, thereís no booziness to this her at all.

M - This is a big beer but itís slick, sweet, resinous and a hint of medicinal along with the boozy heat.

O - Chocolate Rain, I was afraid of this beer. So afraid that I waited until a chance to split this bottle 10 ways. Unlike Melange 3, Black Tuesday and White Chocolate,I was convinced that this beer would be the one high ABV Bruery beer that I couldnít take on by myself. I was convinced this beer needed only 1 ounce and done. Then, I tasted it and realized I could easily drink an entire bottle myself. Itís a delicious beer fresh and Iím looking forward to trying it with some age. It falls short on nose and appearance. Everything else is perfect.

Vilken bomb! Helt otroligt. Tyngsta jag varit med om. En riktig chokladbomb. Möjligt att alkoholen kunde tagit överhand om man druckit ouppvärmd, med i slutet på en provning är det en fullträff. Absolut världsklass och ett imponerande hantverk.

750, capped and waxed. Thanks, J! What a helluva treat. Pours thick gooey black with a dense and creamy dark tan head. Huge chocolate cake nose...somewhere between a really moist devilís food cake and a dense and heavy chocolate chip cookie fresh from the oven. Absolutely nails that dessert profile to a T. Sticky thick body with some carb actually showing. Nice chocolate cake and cookie notes knocking around all over the mid palate. This beer is so sweet it literally made my eyelids flutter, but itís still somehow approachable and enjoyable despite how far out of balance it is. Itís not sticky syrupy, which certainly helps matters immensely. Long sticky sweet finish. Somehow manages not to be cloying...which is a small miracle in and of itself.

Pours dark chocolate with a tan fizzy head. Aroma is big time chocolate and bourbon. Taste is chocolate cake, vanilla bean, bourbon, wood, and char. This is ridiculously drinkable at 19.5%. A fucking masterpiece.

Pour is thin no head. Big nose, bourbon aroma is heavy with undertones of licorice and alcohol. Black in appearance but dark brown when held up to the light near the rim of the glass.extremely sweet which is not expected. The chocolate really comes out in small sips. If it didnít burn my throat Iíd give a 10 taste. Super boozy. Light licorice afterwards. A must try beer. So much chocolate. Great dessert beer.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2013 Bottle from dak. Thanks! 2013 bottle (I think) shared with beastmaster. Pours dark brown (thin looking) with no head whatsoever. Big vanilla chocolate nose with huge sweet bourbon and a bit of licorice and woody oak. Big thick mouthfeel, velvety, with low carbonation but not flat. Big burnt sugar and molasses up front, with sweet chocolate syrup on the back end. Bourbon booze burns on the time. Packs quite a flavor punch. Serious sipper with a lingering sweetness that is rather pleasant. Starts great, harsh going down and waaaay sweet, then the linger is fantastic after dinner treat. Age might do this well for that middle portion which makes it tough to deal with more than a small pour (5 oz here). Only two of us, so recapping the rest for tomorrow.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2014 Smell is booze and then some. There is some cocoa nad vanilla, very basic. Flavor is initially too sweet and boozy. As it warms it is vanilla-y, milk chocolate, and booze. It is decent.

Pours a cloudy deep brown with no head. Looks flat. Aromas of coffee, roast raisins and a whole fuckload of booze. Pretty damn hot on first sip. Taste is dark fruit, raisins, booze, booze, booze. Finishes with a cunt punt and a cock lashing both at once. Not as chocolaty as I had hoped and way, way hot. Meh.

Sample poured by the Bruery rep at Barcadeís event. Wowie! This is pure syrup. Aroma is amazing and sweet like a chocolate caramel sundae. Notes of bourbon (cherry and oak) coming through as well. Pours black and sticky with no carbonation whatsoever. Tastes super sweet with cherry chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, and bourbon. Not very balanced but it certainly doesnít seem like a 20% beer.

This is so goddam freakin awesome! The aroma is chocolate, vanilla, oak, brown sugar, light booze, not so boozy as one might think. The appearance is deep black, off-white head. The flavor is chocolate, vanilla, oak, molasses. The finish is sweet, chocolate, vanilla, light pine at the end. Medium/thick to thick in body. Perfect.
