On draught at Saraveza for their 6th anniversary. Dark amber color. Aroma is brown sugar and molasses. Taste is similar, with definite honey and vanilla notes. Amazingly strong, yet sweet and tasty. Maarten1993 (1408) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - OCT 2, 2014
Drank during an awesome tasting at Thijs’ place 28-3-2014. Very sweet, almost like a barley wine. Carbonation, present alcohol taste. Chocolate after taste. Magnificent beer.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2014 "pours mahogony with a thin tan head, big time sweet alcoholic aroma hits home...fig/raisiny sweet, vanilla, bourbon. you’d think due to the intensity and strength it was far more than 25% barrel gaed, but that’s what it said. the bourbn didn’t dominate, but it was sweet and warming still. very very tasty, but it could’ve been better toned down a bit. maybe 11-12% and not as sweet? usually with the partially barreled beers i’m begging for 50/50, but in this case, the 75% ale was sweet and hot to begin with, so it was good...but too aggressivesubsequent years less sweet even while getting stronger. Up a tenth. to be great."

750 ml "Cuir" bottle shared with the Quebec City crew. Pours a veiled and flaky ruby reddish dark amber with a short lived white head. Aroma is leather, cherry, maple and wood. Flavor is liquor, leather, rum, sugarcane, port wine and caramel. Finish is booze, barley candy, burnt caramel, wood. Lingering port wine, rum and booze. Medium to full body, soft mouthfeel, low carbonation. PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUL 11, 2014
Bottle at RBSG 2014. Thx to everyone for sharing today’s bottles!
APPEARANCE: clear dark blond beer, no foam.
NOSE: very sweet, caramel, alcohol.
TASTE: very sweet, alcohol, caramel. Too much sugar for me, also too much alcohol...

Having this 2010 bottle at Eulogy in June 2014. Very rich dark caramel malts with deep red and brown fruit. Poured a deep translucent ruby with some light beige foam. Complex berry notes. Charred steak. Figs. Pomegranate. Duck sauce. Passionfruit. Cherry cordials. Rich sweet and sour. No funk. No bad notes. Syrupy succulent body. Lip-smacking finish. High ABV numbs the tongue but does not feel overpowering. Has aged very well in the bottle - a lot of the original burnt notes have smoothed and sweetened. Had this as Cuir 100% Bourbon Barrel Aged: pours a deep amber color with off-white head. Tartness, funk, oak, bourbon, and some dark fruits on the nose; follows onto the palate. Very nice. Finishes tart and dry. AdamChandler (5206) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 25, 2014
Cuir 25% Bourbon, 2011 bottle Very hazy red a nice 3 finger head. Aroma is loaded with molasses and figs. Sweet taste. Huge oak presence and a heavy prune juice taste. Absolutely delicious Dfonorow (2318) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 25, 2014
Bottle share at DLD 2014. Pour is clear red/orange with a very small tan head. Aroma and flavor are borderline cloying - toffee, wood chips, vanilla, dark fruit, citrus, rock candy. Low carbonation, alcohol is well hidden mostly due to the high amount of sugar. BelgianBeerGal (4255) - Panama City, Florida, USA - MAY 17, 2014
Traded bottle as Papier with a thick dose of black wax to keep that cap on. Pours a murky brown color with no real head just some bubbles. Big aroma of molasses, dark malt and a hint of steak sauce I think. Bold flavor with a bit of spice and a syrupy mouthfeel. This is definitely a sipper but for 14.5% the booze is actually well hidden. Strange lingering finish. Good but not really my thing.
