On tap @ The Bruery. No ice. Deep indigo colored beer with a short lived purple head. Aroma is sour lemon, boysenberry, blackberry, and grass. Nice fruit forward nose. Really oak and vanilla heavy as well. Flavor is kind of sweet and jammy. Tons of sweet berry, some vanilla, and a light tartness. Slight mustiness, some grass, and mild lemon and tart citrus. Short: A melted berry popsicle beer meant to be served on ice as sangria
Origin: Tap at The Bruery Size: 8oz+Glass: Snifter Tulip Price: ~$4 Date: 1/11/14
Long: Thank you brokensail for the sample. Full haze, murky deep purple pour with little to no foam. Buttery nose, almost bourbon barrel, with bright juicy berries. Really nice flavor with bourbon/oak slickness and a salty acetic bite. Heavy metled berry popsicle throughout. Clean and bright palate has mild acetic to distract. It is definitely quite jammy as the name suggests. Did not try this over ice as marketed but sounds like that could work to make a sangria type drink.
Flaws: Buttery in the nose didn’t match well with a fruit sour, mild acetic acid bite
