Pours hazy dark brown with a low off white head. Aromas of caramel, ripe apple, raisins, plums, oak, muscovado sugar, vanilla. Taste is caramel sweetness with nutty notes and prominent oak character. Bomber. Big dark fruit and chocolate aromas. Lots of alcohol fumes. Dark brown with translucent edges. Super sweet fruit initial, with chocolate, some alcohol burn, dark burnt sugar, and ooohhh!!! Heavy body and quite hot. The hazelnuts are lost somewhere among the alcohol and the sweetness. Very tasty, to be sure... but so rich and alcoholic. Bottle share @ Hampton Inn pre-DLD 2016. Pour hazel / brown with a very small beige head that fades quickly. Aroma and flavor of dark chocolate, roasted malt, hazelnuts, booze, and caramel. Finish is boozy and sweet.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2017 26 may 2017, tap at Bruery. 2014 batch. Nose is walnuts, blue fruit (raisins, digs, plums?), moderate booze. Med body, almost flat, faintly syrupy. Hazelnut comes out in flavor, some tobacco, raisins. Alcohol is barely noticeable. Very nice.

Draft 4 oz pour at Beer Junction. Hate hazelnuts, but not nearly enough to pass on trying a beer like this. A muddy brown pour with almost no head to start. A huge aroma of dough, vanilla, milk chocolate, and some Berry. Flavor is a boost chocolate, and a nutty cherry note. Like a cherry walnut flavor. Huge beer here. Unique and memorable. Beer Jumction, Seattle. Small draft pour. Nice ring foam. Thick, heavy brown. Whoa, this is a big heavy beer. Toffee nougat. Distinct alcohol note, cherry like, on nose and finish. Creamy, heavy syrup. Plenty of bite. This beer is an experience. Hazelnut is present but under the weight of the alcohol and stout. Bottle , 2013 vintage. Pours clear black, small tan head, some lacing. Aroma is rich vanilla bourbon hazelnut cocoa. Flavor is the same pretty sweet, light plus bitter, rich hazelnut spread with a bourbon vanilla overtone. Medium plus body, kinda hot overall, but a really nice desert sipper. Glad to have shared it with friends.
