VsXsV (4464) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 18, 2015
Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small to medium tan head. Aroma of chocolate, raw sugar, sweet booze, licorice, bourbon, dried fruit and nuts. Taste is medium to high sweet and light bitter with notes of chocolate, vanilla, raw sugar and hot alcohol. Full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Really good but of course overly sweet. Not that much hazelnut flavour.

Bottle @ THLBBT May, thnx to bytemesis for sending this my way. Pours a clear dark brown beer with a small, quickly disappearing beige head on top. Aroma of bourbon, hazelnuts, booze, roast, caramel, some molasses and woods. Very complex. The flavor has all the components needed for a powerful stout, sweet chocolate nutty influences, bourbon notes, a touch of vanilla and a nice, full bodied, strong aftertaste with a good alcohol burn in the back. Medium level of carbonation, greatly balanced and an incredible beer!

Bottle shared thanks to Mrhangover. Pours very dark brown with a short lived beige head. Aroma of molasses, hazelnuts, toffee, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, alcohol soaked raisins and some light overripe dark fruit. Flavour is heavy sweet with a hugely warming alcohol palate and a moderately chewy mouthfeel. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Dark brown pour wih just a tiny amount of head. Big boozy nose. Bourbon. Massively sweet, huge booze. A bit of nutty goodness in the finish. Hot.

2014 750ml bottle pours a dark brown with a thin khaki head. no alcohol taste what so ever for such a strong beer, big bourbon vanilla and oak taste.

Easily the weakest of the BT variants. Try as I may, I cannot find any significant evidence of hazelnuts beyond the smell of the wax on the top. The beer is sweeter and less complex that regular BT. Not really for me.

Bottle, shared by a kind soul, in a location remote of my dining room.
Pours a very dark brown... I guess it’s pretty much black... & it’s got no head, it almost looks flat.

The aroma is intensely sweet, it’s got loads of chocolate and nuttiness. It’s got vanilla and bourbon and hazelnut coffee. Behind all of this the roasty sort of stout-i-ness is lingering.

The beer is nutty & a little boozy (but gracious not 19% boozy) It’s got a good dosing of chocolate, toffee, bourbon and vanilla. The roastiness is again subdued to all the sweet flavors.

I’m not above giving a dessert beer a little love, and this is a very nice dessert beer. And I might add, one that hides her strength gracefully.

harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - MAR 12, 2015
2014 Glugs out the bottle a viscous dark brown with mahogany edging. Near glass top. Smells decadent with fudge, bourbon, hazelnuts, caramel, booze. Flavor follows along with the story: hot fudge, marshmallow, booze, oak, bourbon, deez nuts, some leather. Full, tacky body with low carb and a cloying finish. As usual, nice beer.
