Loved this beer.
Aroma was full of molasses, dark fruit, chocolate.
Appearance was darn near black with ribbons of burgundy.
Taste was excellent, although I wish I hadn’t let the bottle sit for so long. It really lost a good deal of the macadamia nut flavor, but it remained sweet. Very little ethanol considering the ABV. Perfectly warming. Body was big, lush, velvety.

Black color with a solid beige head. Looks fine. Nice lacing. Solid aroma. Full body and a smooth carbonation level. Nice rich (but yet mellow) sweetness and a oily texture. Warming alcohol. Unbelievable well masked at 19%. Lasting flavor with chocolate, toffee, molasses, nutty, espresso, oak and vanilla. Solid stuff!

750 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 10/4/2016. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger foamy khaki head with poor retention, and reduces to nothing pretty quickly. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Plenty of alcohol legs on the glass. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, hazelnuts, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, fudge, vanilla, molasses, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, raisins, and roast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, hazelnuts, and bourbon barrel notes; with great strength. Increasing booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, hazelnuts, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, fudge, vanilla, molasses, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, raisins, and roast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate bourbon/oak spiciness and light roasted bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, hazelnuts, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, fudge, vanilla, molasses, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, raisins, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt, hazelnuts, and bourbon barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light dryness from bourbon/oak spiciness and roast bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and fairy full body; with a smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly slick/syrupy/sticky/chalky/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden; a small lingering warmth, with mild booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an incredible barrel aged imperial stout! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt, hazelnuts, and bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the enormous ABV. I was hoping for more intense hazelnut character from this; but it seems to be much more balanced between the malt, barrel, and hazelnut flavors. A highly enjoyable offering regardless. (The Bruery Grey Monday) Bottle 750ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 18.5%. Vintage 2014.
Black coloured body, small and frothy dark brown head, with low retention.
Aroma of bourbon, alcohol, roasted malts, vanilla, some hazelnuts in there but not as pronounced as I expected.
Taste is sweet with bourbon and vanilla, alcohol, roasted malts, molasses, some hazelnut on the back.
Thick body, soft carbonation.

Pours hazy dark brown with a low off white head. Aromas of caramel, ripe apple, raisins, plums, oak, muscovado sugar, vanilla. Taste is caramel sweetness with nutty notes and prominent oak character. Mouthfeel is full bodied with oily notes and very low carbonation.

Bomber. Big dark fruit and chocolate aromas. Lots of alcohol fumes. Dark brown with translucent edges. Super sweet fruit initial, with chocolate, some alcohol burn, dark burnt sugar, and ooohhh!!! Heavy body and quite hot. The hazelnuts are lost somewhere among the alcohol and the sweetness. Very tasty, to be sure... but so rich and alcoholic. UPDATED: MAY 26, 2017 26 may 2017, tap at Bruery. 2014 batch. Nose is walnuts, blue fruit (raisins, digs, plums?), moderate booze. Med body, almost flat, faintly syrupy. Hazelnut comes out in flavor, some tobacco, raisins. Alcohol is barely noticeable. Very nice.
10 Nov 2016, tap at Bruery Terreux. med/dark brown. nose is boozy, soy sauce, and hazelnuts. med/full body and moderately fizzy. seriously, smells and tastes like sweet soy sauce with some nuts. not a fan.
