750 ml gusher. Tart fruit on the nose, guava, and oak. Pours very muddy with fruit solids in the glass, pours an amber red. Nice tartness upfront with the dates blending nicely with the oak the guave and funky tartness working great. Pours ugly but tastes great!

A: The pour is quite hazy and dark reddish-brown in color with a finger or two of off-white head. S: Like with Marron Acidifie, the acetic character is rather in check. Plenty of red fruits and particularly lots of red wine aroma. Nice oak and a touch of leather and chocolate. The fruits don’t come through too much, but there is a bit of the guava. T: A light caramel sweetness to it with just a hint of dates and plums. Red wine, red wine vinegar, and some tart guava. A nice oakiness to it and a little bit of tannins, maybe some leathery funk. M: Medium in body with a medium carbonation. O: Not sure if I liked this or Marron better. Very good either way.

(750ml bottle) Pours a hazy amber brown body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel, horse blanket, wet leather, raisins, dates, oak, and cherries. Flavor of vinous, cherry, raspberry, brown sugar, raisins, guava, yogurt, oak, and dates. Sourness (while moderate) seems to come and go with this beer.

Bottle that I took to Andy’s for Paul’s birthday and Joey’s going away (and hopefully coming back at some point) tasting. Pours a hazed ruby and copper amber with a slight white head. Mango, papaya, and sweet fruit, acid and wood. Apparently I should be smelling and tasting dates here as well. Don’t really get that. Woody, soft acid, wood and fruit. Lightly acidic, fruit and wood. Lingering acid, woody, acid. Tasty.

Rating number 2,500. Thanks to GregSVT for sharing this bottle at the Flying Saucer Beer Tasting. The beer pours a hazy orange color with a white head. The aroma is full of dark fruit, with a lot of cherries, cranberries and blackberries. I also get a nice dose of brown sugar and some light tartness. The flavor is also very nice. I get a lot of tart cherries and other dark fruit, as well as some nice oaked notes. I get a little bit of toffee as well as some light sweetness and brown sugar notes. The sweet and sour components go very well together. The mouthfeel is relatively thin and the carbonation is pretty low. A very nice sour beer.

Bottle shared at Tower of Sour Power. I’ve been looking forward to trying this since I had Marron Acidifie. Was there much of a difference? Honestly not really. This had that sour mustard type smell along with a sour tart flavor. I like them both don’t get me wrong.

Bruery/cigar city iso:ft. 750ml bottle obtained through the reserve society... Pours a deeper reddish caramel, for the most part opaque although a smidge of light seeps through. A thin creamy barely off- white rests on top... Aroma of subdued sour oak upfront, not too acidic which is nice, sour cherries and dark fruits to coincide. A touch of acidity surfaces midway through and lingers for short while... Flavorwise much of it renders similar to what the aroma suggests. Semi-sweet upfront with a mild acidity that follows closely behind. Dark fruits, cherries, dates and figs withstanding. An earthy following presents itself which curtails any developing sharp acidic qualities. Lighter to medium bodied with an equal amount of carbonation. 8/4/8/3/16

Pours amber brown with a small white head. Nose is vinegar, grapes, apples, lemons, brown sugar and spice. Taste is sweet mostly with some bitterness hints and some very earthy tartness on the end. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, light body and a long finish.
