Can’t believe how much less I like this one than the original. I’m a bit of a coffee snob, so stale, bitter dried out coffee was all I could really get out of this. Almost overwhelmed the excellent base beer. madvike (3281) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 21, 2015
Bottle - Pours rosy brown with a filmy light tan head. Nose is boozy and sharp with coffee grounds, sweet bready malt, and a bit of sweet bourbon. Taste is codes grounds, not as pungent as I’d like, with sweet bready malt, caramel and bourbon, and a light coffee finish. Slick and medium-bodied. plytton27 (7) - - MAR 19, 2015 does not count
I love coffee beers. This one is unique, but excellent as well. A good beer to have when you want to grub out. bhensonb (15505) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 18, 2015
Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with orange glints and a beige head. Aroma is rather chocolate with coffee and bourbon. Full bodied. Flavor is coffee, bourbon, chocolate, treacle. Not getting oak. But the description didn’t include barrel! Great stuff in any event. Lots of chocolate in the finish. [2/18/15] Draught at The Bruery in Placentia. Dark amber-brown. Great aroma of coffee, bourbon, malt, vanilla and a bit of chocolate. Sweet flavor, boozy, with malt, bourbon, vanilla, some fruitiness and wood. Medium-bodied, quite boozy.

Bottle at Tasting, Seattle. Deep rosy brown, tan foam. We all agree there is a green, fresh cut pepper aroma, but I think it is some funny play of the bourbon and coffee. Lots of coffee on aroma. Creamy sweet, cold brew coffee, condensed milk. Nice. ryanfolty (2584) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - MAR 6, 2015
March 6, 2015 - bottle shared by Brandon. Brown pour with some head that faded quickly. Aroma was coffee, bourbon and caramel. Taste was surprisingly coffee dominant with the BA barley wine being very much in the background. Seems to be just a tad too much coffee. marcus (10483) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 6, 2015
On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours Dark brown with a thick tan head and a fruity aroma. There is an intense dark molasses flavor with a sticky long finish. Lots of coffee. dnstone (3462) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - FEB 22, 2015
Deep Amber-brown with off-white head. Coffe meets syrup sweet aroma. Excellently balanced barley wine meets coffee flavor, sweet but not too much.
