The (not so) shit beer tasting at Leightons stratospheric flat. Hazy deep red - amber beer. Big pale cream coloured head. Coconut nose. Palate is airy and light. Airy malt, little cream, light dried fruits, spice, earthy coffee. Light coconut and light fruity bourbon. The coffee really is not adding anything to the base beer here, in fact it is an unneccessary distraction. But overall still solid and very enjoyable.
Bottle shared at the Night of Garbage - thanks to Mr. Bruery, Kenneth. Pours clear amber-brown with a foamy beige head. Lots of coffee in the nose, some earth, cocoa. Medium to big sweet flavor, more coffee, some maple syrup, chocolate, honey, burnt toffee. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation and a creamy texture. Warming finish, quite sweet, some pancakes with maple syrup, milk chocolate, mild coffee, a bit of earthy bitterness. Very nice. Bottle split at the Night of Garbage, big thanks to Kenny, dear dear Kenny who didn’t seem to understand the rules, either that or the worst beers in his stash are pretty decent, 20/12/13 up a shit load of stairs !
Hazed dark amber with a good sized light beige head that thins to a covering and edgework.
Nose is roast coffee, toffee fudge, light boozedom, sugars, roasty notes.
Taste comprises earthy cocoa, coffee present bit not as rich as in the aroma, muscavado sugars, coconut shavings, caramel fudge.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet closure.
Nice coffee’d up BW - this beer had no right to be here on this celebration of cack! jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - NOV 8, 2014

Brown pour with a small khaki head. Rich coffee, caramel, and vanilla. Spice, some bourbon, and more coffee. Coffee dominates the flavor. Caramel sweetness, a but of chocolate, spice, bourbon, and nice vanilla. Hints of dark fruit as it warms. Ferris (15275) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 23, 2016
Tap room - Nice roast coffee bean. Clear copper and a decent light beige head. Coffee and some malts with a long grain like finish. bhensonb (15194) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 18, 2015
Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with orange glints and a beige head. Aroma is rather chocolate with coffee and bourbon. Full bodied. Flavor is coffee, bourbon, chocolate, treacle. Not getting oak. But the description didn’t include barrel! Great stuff in any event. Lots of chocolate in the finish. [2/18/15] Draught at The Bruery in Placentia. Dark amber-brown. Great aroma of coffee, bourbon, malt, vanilla and a bit of chocolate. Sweet flavor, boozy, with malt, bourbon, vanilla, some fruitiness and wood. Medium-bodied, quite boozy. Scopey (14730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 21, 2013
Bottle at the Night of Garbage, thanks to Kenny. It pours cloudy red-brown with a small yellow-white head. The nose is wood, coffee, toast, marmite, cocoa, chocolate powder, mustiness, earth and umami notes. The taste is bitter-sweet, wood, toffee, toast, coffee, roasty, some acidity, earth, toffee and dark chocolate bounty. Full body and fine, prickly carbonation. Not sure the coffee improves the beer really. Quite big and ballsy, but tasty enough.
