COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mélange #10 was created by your peers at a special blending competition held in December of 2014 by a pair of Hoarders Society members. Based on the flavors of their childhood, this beer is intended to mimic some of the rich and slightly spicy character of a Mexican-style hot chocolate. Using a blend of our bourbon barrel aged Anniversary ale and a bourbon barrel aged variation of our barley-wine, Old Richland, they were able to create a perfect base beer with which to play. Ancho chiles, chocolate and cinnamon sticks compliment the vanilla and toffee notes from the malty beer, reminding us of our abuela with each sip.

60% ale aged in bourbon barrels, 40% ale aged in bourbon barrels with chilies, chocolate, and cinnamon.

750 ml bottle, Thank you AdamChandler. Pours dark brown, cinnamon, caramel, molasses, brown sugar.

The pepper must have faded, thankfully! The oaky bourbon has mellowed out a lot as well, the base is chocolate malt with cinnamon, coconut, and the faintest / mild chili pepper in the finish. Body is medium to full. As big as the ABV is is has died down. Pretty good amount of cinnamon in the finish. Real nice.

75CL Acquired via Hoarders this year. Only bought 1 I think because honestly, chili beers are a turn off although blended HS beers are usually pretty good. Split 5 ways just in case. Reddish brown with hazy cloudiness. That smells good. Coconut and very spicy. Wow. This is delicious. Coconut and vanilla dominate. wowzerz. This is great. the spice is very subdued like not present at all. cinnamon finish, chocolate mars bars and various candies. This is really awesome. Kind of wish I had more but that’s the risk of Bruery.

RBSG 2016 shared at the Grand Tasting after-party in the hotel lobby. Bottle. Cloudy/opaque brown. Husky malts, chocolate, brown bread, cinnamon spice, low chilli burn. I really like this kind of "hodge-podge" strong ale when it works-- and this one does.
