3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from big bottle into Chimay chalice.
Clear gold with large head and lace.
Aroma of fresh bread, slight citrus zest, sweet malts, nuts.
Significant carbonation and mouthfeel.
Flavors of light malts, funky fruit rind and bitter roots on the base of a tasty belgian golden ale or tripel. The balance is there between a wonderful Belgian and some barnyard funkiness, adding challenge and intrigue! Overall tasty and different.
Bottle. Opened after drain pouring a regular mischief, which should never be aged and was terribly oxidized.... Golden orange in color with foamy white head... Aroma of rotten fruits, Brett... less oxidation than the regular, Brett held up a bit more, but flavor is still lots of overripe almost rotten fruits, some brett funk on finish... fairly dry and much more drinkable... solid

Bottle thanks to George. Pours a cloudy gold with huge frothy white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is floral, strong brett, funk, oak. Medium mouth, citrus, funky, brett, light tartness, very good. wedgie9 (2702) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 10, 2014
From notes. Tasted some time near the summer of 2012 from a capped 750mL bottle with the Nashville crew. Pours clear golden with a massive white head that leaves thick, messy lace. The nose is peach, pineapple, some caramel, but really dominated by spicy brett. The flavor is a bit sweet with the peach, pineapple, and touch of caramel up front, moving to the spicy and bitter, funky brett. The body is medium with lively carbonation and a long spicy and bitter finish. slowrunner77 (12060) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 25, 2014
"cant say i like this MORE than mischief, since i really dig that beer, but it’s on par, and a different experirnce. the brett is obvious but not so overpowering you cant tell that this is a hoppy golden belgian...so lots of complexity...fruit, bitterness, funk. Smooth body and a great dry finish."

HMOG 2014. Well I was prepared for this to be sour as hell given the brash colored label. I was wrong. This was more hoppy than anything. Perhaps the brett had not developed (I know, I know Brett doesn’t necessarily mean sour), but this was weak sour. Nice flavor of muted hops, sweet malts and just a touch of sour. jsquire (4497) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - FEB 22, 2014
Gold color with a very fizzy white head. Light nose. I do not get much Brett out of here, which is good for me. Very effervescent. Some orange peel and lemon, some spice and yeast. Better than I expected. ineedbeer (2156) - Oakland, California, USA - JAN 12, 2014
750 ml bottle from 2010 or 2011. Aroma is fairly Brett forward with quite a bit of pineapple and tropical fruit. Some light graininess and a hint of citrus. Pear and honey also present. Some pepper phenolics as it warms with a hint of alcohol as well. Pours a moderately clear golden orange with a huge pillowy white head that has above average head retention. Moderately high lacing but not really any legs. Flavor has a hint of sweetness. Moderate honey notes and lighter graininess. Medium tropical fruit and pineapple along with moderate overripe pear. Lighter citrus and red apple notes. Medium light bitterness with a hint of alcohol spice. Some medium light tannins. Moderate pepper phenolic notes with some light coriander notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth. Overall a decent beer, with a nice Brett character. Some nice yeast character with just some faint hints of the malt notes. Not a gusher, but it slowly foams out the bottle. alexsdad06 (10436) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 28, 2013
750 ml bottle shared with the group. Pours a slightly hazy bright golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma has a good amount of Brett, wood, some sweet / sour citrus, yeast with some additional fruit character. The flavor is more of the same with a dry mouth feel and medium body.
