Pours hazy yellow with a HUGE white head. Good retention and a lot of lacing. Appears to have Champagne-like carbonation, with streaks of bubbles (but does not taste very carbonated). Smells very floral with honeysuckle and hops. Taste like spice, wheat, and very bitter grapefruit and hops, with a honey like sweetness. Mouth feel is thicker than I expected for this type of beer. Very good hoppy Belgian style ale. If you like hops, you might fall in love with this.

This was my first offering from The Bruery. Im not a huge fan of the Belgian brews. This beer surprised me. The Belgian yeast was not over powering. Very nice easy drinking brew.

BOttle Via Beerstore.co.nz on last trip there, in cellar over 12 months To me smelt and tasted like a heat affected and old Duvel, which while not inspiring, also not that bad, quite a lot of dirty noble hop?flavour didnt seem to meld well with the phenolics, OK, BUt maybe past its best

Mischief pours a hazy burnt orange. Creamy two finger head with great lacing throughout. As soon as you pour this brew the hops just hit the nose. This is definitely on the high side when it comes to Belgian Pale Ales. Wonderful aroma of citrus, floral hops, and slight pineapple. In the description of the beer they also mention pears and melon. I didnt pick that up. It also has a nice Belgian yeast background mixed in with candied sugar. Its really an amazing smell. Very hop forward but nicely mixed in with everything else. The taste is really nice but not as strong as the aroma. The hops still take the number one spot though. Full of citrus, grassy and floral hops. They leave a nice bitter aftertaste. I picked up more a bready malt taste that I didnt pick up with the smell. Mixed in their is a hint of the Belgian yeast and sweetness of candied sugar. Youll also notice a tad bit of alcohol from start to finish. But the key here is the hoppiness. Its pretty big and bitter. Ive read in the past that The Bruery will never do an IPA. Well this is as close as youre going to get and I would take this taste over a ton of IPAs. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, light carbonation, and has a kind of soapy finish to it. Like it sticks on the walls of your mouth.

Bottle, shared with Dave. Hazy medium golden with a thick dense white head that retains beautifully. Nice herbal perfumey hop aroma and flavour, gently yeasty, nice chamomile character. Balanced bitter finish. So good!

Bottle at Camp Beer IX. Pours a cloudy yellow with small off white and spotty lacing. The aroma is and a fruity hop and lemon peel. Med mouthfeel with a sweet hop and a nice light dry finish. Very easy to drink, really enjoyed this Belgian strong ale from The Bruery.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Hazy and apple cider colored. A big off white head. A light aroma is fruit and yeast. A bitbof funky stuff going on. Itbis light drinking, especially at the ABV. Soft fruit and yeast, sugar, and flowers. A hint of spice. Dangerously good.
