Acetobacter (816) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 12, 2011
Enjoyed from a 750ml bottle in a wine glass. The beer pours a fairly clear straw-colored yellow, with a large, dense white head. The nose shows fairly prevalent character of what initially seem to be earthy European noble hops, with indications of the use of piney American hops beginning to come through as the beer warms. These aromas, paired with the Belgian yeast esters, create an interesting melange of notes. The palate shows the spritzy, palate cleansing, dry, and slightly spicy character of the best examples of the Belgian Golden Strong style; with the addition of a substantial amount of flavor hops in the mid-palate and finish. The general feel of the beer is complex and layered, but the flavors didnt always seem to perfectly match one another; especially with regard to using west coast hop in quantity in the beers flavor profile. Overall, very interesting and nicely executed, as with many of the beers from this excellent brewery.

muzzlehatch (4874) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 11, 2016
750 ml bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, served at cellar temp in a Duvel glass. Big frothy, foamy white head dies with some rapidity atop the very hazy, lightly bubbly golden body...nose dominated by spicy esters (cardamom, cinnamon) and a sweet malt and yeasty character that while not exciting is certainly entirely appropriate...theres also a bit of vanilla, or bourbon-vanilla, and some floral notes as it warms more...body is moderately sweet, lightly tart, with hops surprisingly enough showing up right away and continuing through to the slightly drier (though still juicy), somewhat bitter and mineralic finish...effervescent carbonation, vaguely syrupy feel in the mouth...gets progressively more peppery and dry and tart with more swallows and more minutes. This is fairly decent and at its price, one of the better deals in this style around here, and certainly the cheapest beer from this br(u)ewery that Ive seen. A somewhat pleasant surprise.

Smells better then it tastes. Floral slight fruity twinge to the nose. Taste is spicy yeast. It is an extremely sweet and little heat for its percentage.

Serve from bottle. Aroma is lemongrass, bread and apricot. Flavour is a bit too sweet. Starts with bitter orange but then its washed away by Belgian candy flavour. Good, but could be better.

Bottle @cgarvieuk. April Not So Fools Tasting 2014 [Rating Backlog April 2014] Pours golden with a thin white head. Nose is spicy, lemons, caramel, candy sugar. Taste is along the same lines as the nose but the caramel is more to the fore as is the orange zest.

Mamy dużo ciała, trochę nut jabłkowo-bananowych i przyprawowych. Finisz to średno-wysoka, zalegająca goryczka, łodygowa i tępa w posmaku.
