A: The pour is just about as black as you can get with a massive brown head that displays excellent retention and sticky lacing.
S: This is supposed to be a chile beer, but I don’t get very much chile aroma out of it. Perhaps a touch of earthiness, but there is more of a black pepper aroma than anything. A big time banana smell is also present.
T: The banana flavor and sweetness really dominate the beer, but I don’t find that to be a bad thing. I don’t get much chile on the palate either: just a hint of warmth to it. A moderate roastiness and perhaps some vanilla.
M: Medium in body with a moderate level of carbonaiton.
O: Although there wasn’t much chile flavor/character here, the beer was quite nice. JoeTheYounger (1195) - Lake Arrowhead, California, USA - MAY 7, 2011
