COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Defined as "serving no practical purpose", the recipe for Otiose was developed during a rare break in the brewing schedule; a recipe we came up with to satisfy our own desires and nothing more. The result is a sour brown ale aged in oak barrels to which we added guava. Riddled with tropical notes which are balanced by it’s malty backbone, Otiose is a rich and decadent sour ale. 8.2%, Cellerable for up to 3 years.

Pours opaque chocolate brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma has woody and sour fruit notes supported by a subtle malty tone. Flavor is quite sour, enough to make your mouth pucker and your eyes dance. Fruity and woody notes dominate. Mouthfeel is firm and lively. Pucker up and enjoy!

750 ml bottle shared by Huhzubendah, thanks Matt! Pours a clear cherry brown with copper orange hues when backlit. Head is a creamy light tan that fades to the edge. Aroma is oak, sour cherry complexity and vanilla. Flavor is same with mouth puckering sour aspect. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, and tangy sour finish.

750 ml bottle shared with drsordr and a couple others. Pours a hazy reddish brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have tart/sour berries, tropical notes which I’m sure is the guava, sweetness, caramel, wood, acidic, nice combo of sweet/sour, very drinkable, glad I have more bottles.

"nice murky mahogony brown pour. nice slightly funky aroma with sweet and sour guava present. acidic feel...really nice. flavor is significantly more sour than the aroma without losing any of the other aspects. Yet another wonderful beer from The Bruery!"
