Bottle. Hazy dark amber pour with a light tan head. Generic tropical fruitiness, lightly gauva, quite acidic, red wine vinegar, lots of oaky wood, buttery, toffee, and thick caramel. Pretty tasty, but difficult to drink.
Bottle, 2012, so I guess I overcellared this one. Pours clear reddish chestnut, small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly with decent lacing. Aroma is initially a lot of nail polish remover, oak tannins, plum, lemon, funk. Flavor is medium tart, light plus funk, lots of oak, hints of tart. Dark brown with a medium small head. Aroma is tart and slight malty with some cherry notes, toffee
Taste is sour and light sweet. Finish is sour lemon, grapes, some toffee notes, prunes, hints of barnyard and lemon.
Light to medium bodied, average carbonation.
Bottle received as extra in trade. Thank you Andrew! pours very dark reddish brown with a small beige head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissiapting. Smell is malty and tiny funky with dark v´bread, caramel, lemon juice, dark grapes, moist soil, leather, moist wood, barnyard and lemon zest. Taste is very tiny sweet, sour, malty and fruity. Bottle: Poured a deep clear reddish color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of tart notes with some light vinous notes and some oak. Taste is a complex mix of guava with some tart and oak notes with some light vinous notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Bottle from trade. Pours a murky brown with a scant head. Aromas of oak and some light citrus. Taste is tart and semi dry. Flavors of sour apple, some orange, oak, moss and a slight funk. Perhaps a touch of vinegar. Alcohol is hidden. Tart, lip smacking finish. I want to like this more than I do, but in the end it’s just another mediocre Bruery offering.
