Hazy medium red amber color with a small to average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, tart berry, berries, sour berry, wood, barnyard. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long to average duration, berries, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottled. A murky dark amber beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of bettanomyces, malt, and caramel. Bottle @ Sour & Bitter 2012. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity sour tart aroma with hints of caramel. Fruity sour tart funky flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity sour tart funky finish.

VIII. Very deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is tart wood, some fruits, wood and mild herbal notes. Flavour is tart wood, some sourness and a bit friuty notes. This is a good sour tart, but not "Belgian" good.

5th March 2010. Pre ZBF. Cloudy red beer. Light dry palate. Sour but measured. Pleasantly sour fruit with a little spice. Cherry acid but not overdone. Hard to rate for a non sour lover!
