Pour out of 750 mL bottle is clear yellow with thin white head, aroma brought notes of slight oak, bread and biscuity notes, slight mineral and weird off plastic notes, some slight grass as well. Taste is a mix of biscuit and slight mineral and plastics, slight bready yeast with grass finishing fairly bitter. No thanks.

Bottle pours clear yellow with thin but persistent white head. Aroma of sour slightly rancid fruits with a bitter air. Taste initially sweet, light fruits, oak. Palate thin and slightly sticky. Finish prolonged oaky acidity with slight hops.

The oak really overwhelms the maibock aspects, not a good combination.

Bottle 750ml.

Unclear - hazy medium golden orange colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, pale malt, sugar, sweet malt. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, wood - oak notes - not sure ! Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120202]

Bottle, thanks emacgee for sharing. Opaque orange with a large head that fades immediately leaving a dull. Flavor is surprisingly bearable, lots of oak, light notes of orange peel and lemon, light booze. Flavor is incredibly dull, lightly grainy, and boozy. Drinks very heavy. imperial mailbock is stupid.

Thanks bauermj. Pours a viscous soft straw gold with two fingers of dense dirty white head. Oh man, rich nose. Tons of bread/dough. Very dextrinous with notes of fresh cut pear and apple juice. Notes of spicy alcohol come through along with herbal/leafy hops. Pfew, not a fan of the flavor. Super rich and dextrinous with some shaved coconut, sweet bread, and buttery oak. Not doin it for me.

crosamich (433) - Twin Falls, Idaho, USA - MAR 13, 2012
medium body, high carbonation, slight malt and sour wood in the nose. Vanilla and wood comes through as it warms up. Maybe a little alcohol hot but not off-putting. Would like to see a little more malt backbone to keep up with the barrel. But nice vanilla notes come through.

750mL bottle. Poured clear light-medium golden with an off-white head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet honey and biscuity notes, with lots of oak and some vanilla accenting.. nice underlying warmth.. the oak worked well in there. The flavor found crusty bread, a kiss of honey, and vanilla at the core.. dry, peppery oak and lesser fruity notes around, along with citrus and soapy bitterness.. finished with a lot of oak character and residual warmth. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. really dry from the carbo and the oak.. overall a solid brew, but I’m much rather see it in a six pack.

hmm, a half way normal beer from the Bruery .. . pours a deep tan .. medium foam, great lacing .. . light caramel and sweet wood .. . basic light mouth, light stickiness .. . not enough for me, like a regular bock, just stickier .. . . The Big Brain am winning again! I am the greetest! Ha ha ha ha ha! Now, I am leaving Earth, for no raisin.

Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Taster at Provisions. Rating #42. Clear gilden pour, a little on the darkside with a white head. Malty and a little woody with a subtle smokiness. Clean, grainy with a stout maltiness and more oak in the finish. Nice stuff, very mellow and tasty. (2160)

Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 7, 2012
Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Cloudy yellow - white head. Yeasty, fruity, light toasted, apples, fruity hoppy, peppery, spicy notes, oakey, wooden notes, citrus, grape fruits, wooden tartness. NIce.
