Bottle courtesy of my Reserve Society membership. Served in a Bruery tulip.
Pours a dark brown color with a nice light tan head and some spotty lacing on the way down. The nose carries some roasted malt and chocolate plus a nice bit of pumpkin pie spice. The flavor hits the milk stout aspect well and adds a bit of pumpkin spice, though nothing overpowering. The cedar is there in the background. Medium body with a smooth carbonation and nice spice to the finish. Well done. corby112 (2804) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 26, 2012
Draft at Bruery Provisions.
Pours pitch black and opaque with a one finger beige had that slowly settles into lasting ring. Streaks of lace left behind.
Sweet and spicy aroma with tons of pumpkin, autumnal spice and chocolate. Hints of ginger, nutmeg, pumpkin spice, pumpkin purée, allspice, clove and vanilla. Subtle wood presence with decent dark malt profile.
Medium bodied with a really weird combination of flavors. Lots of lactic cream and dark malts that are quickly countered by an aggressively overspiced character. Lots of pumpkin, ginger and pumpkin but it’s not as complex as the nose hinted at. The heavy spiciness clashed with the lactic sugar and dark malts making it a bit tough to drink. 20 jan 2012, tap at the brewery. Dark brown almost black. Spiced pumpkin is biggest aroma but then there’s a big dark chic stout aroma as well. Med body and a bit fizzy. Bitter dark chocolate and bitter chocolate finish. Some spiced sweet pumpkin flavored. Nice. Too spiced. andyhwcinc (1884) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 19, 2012
Enjoyed on tap as an addendum to the Darkside flight at Bruery Provisions in Orange, CA. Appearance is dark brown, rich dark tan head that laces to the glass. Aroma is milky, chocolatey, I’m getting a small amount of pumpkin smell, also a bit of the cedar. Taste is very smooth, filled with dark chocolate, a touch of hops, a bit of oak. Extra point for this being 6.66% ABV! Good good stuff, too bad I’m rating this along with great stuff!

Capped 750 from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Pours brown/black with a 2 finger tan head. Aroma is nuclear pumpkin pie spice. Near full bodied. Flavor is very spicy, pie wise, and squash is present. Works well as beer. Nice. marcus (10231) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 16, 2012
Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours black with a thick tan head that subsides quickly, and a pumpkin and spice aroma. There is a slightly sour vegetable flavor with some chocolate and treacle. A nice combination. Peacehammer (624) - California, USA - JAN 11, 2012
