3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2012 Taster at The Bruery’s tasting room. There’s a lot going on with this beer. It’s got a ton of spice and pumpkin to go along with bitter chocolate hop character. This is not one to drink between the sours and lighter palated beers like I did. Just crazy unique beer.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong cedar, roasted malt, spice. Thin mouth, similar flavors to nose, caramel, nice spice finish, held up well. Stuu666 (13390) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 9, 2015

"I’m guessing this was released late last summer/early fall, but it’s held up very well. Initial aroma out of the bottle and on first pour is all-spice, pumpkin, dark roast and chocolate. flavor is much the same (at first) with a little lactose to smooth out the mouthfeel. just about everyone really liked this one. As it warms, the cedar becomes more and more the prominent player, adding a layer of complexity not expected. Very nice pumpkin beer, behind only Elysian & Cigar City (which ironically you think you are drinking since they are usually the ones to age on cedar)."

Nice dark pour with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, spice, and bread. Flavor matched aroma. SudsMcDuff (8428) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - JAN 19, 2014
what a day, another new bruery beer for this big nasty bastard! .. . deep radio africa brown .. . medium to full mouth .. . cooked pumpkin mash, caramel, and wort .. . very nice pumpkin beer .. . . status: questionable return due to constipation. baraciisch (3232) - California, USA - OCT 25, 2013
Deep black in color with rich tan head... Aroma of smoked malts, intense spice notes, like sniffing autumn... Flavor is sweet lactose initially that gives way to smoked cedar, burnt roasted malts with notes of pumpkin and spices... Smoke is a little much, but definitely enjoyable... Solid per usual from the Bruery

A: Dark Opaque Hue, Passes No Light, Light Brown Head, Good Lacing
S: Strong Cedar, Smoke, Pumpkin
T: Smoked Cedar, Sweet Potatoes, Vanilla, Milk Chocolate, Mild Lactose
M: Decent Carbonation, Medium To Full Bodied, Mildly Bitter, Somewhat Watery
Overall, this beer retains a lot of the cedar flavor and smokiness but it seems like there is too much going on at one time and almost cancels each thing out, way too complex. BVery (10485) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - AUG 18, 2013
Tap at the brewpub - should this really be retired if I just bought it today? Very dark thick looking pour with a light brown head. Pumpkin, ginger, lactose, and some spices going on here. This is yummy.
