COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For our second local collaboration this year, we teamed up with Los Angeles based Eagle Rock Brewery. For those who don’t know the beers of Eagle Rock, they are some of the finest around and it was really fun working with their crew. Together we blended our styles and developed a pretty unique recipe that we are referring to as a Belgian-style mild ale. There aren’t many sessionanable Belgian ales around and Eagle Rock is well known for some lower alcohol beers; we are very excited for you to try this one.

"Might be the first boring beer I’ve had from the Bruery. Mild is putting it light (no pun intended). This ussled brew has a nice zesty belgian yeast going for it, but other than some non-descript sweetness and/or fruitiness, that’s it. Not bad, but why collaborate for this when your own beers are so much better?"

750 ml bottle shared with the group. Pours a hazy brown color with a large fluffy off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel malts, yeast, moderate fruity character, very light bitterness, grass, definitely a session beer.

Bottle from Domus Birrae Roma, shared with esp0r, Simonsen & Edvard, september 28th 2013. Amber body, beige head. Aroma of red fruits and belgian yeast, sweet caramel taste with yeast spices and orange. No noticable bitterness. Delightful sweet aftertaste.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes orangegoldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, malzig süß, leicht würzig. Geschmack leicht hefig, fruchtig malzig, Gewürze, blumig.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown orange with thick white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is caramel, yeast, and fruit. Medium mouthfeel with a light caramel malt and sweet fruity finish. Very good, held up well.

Dirty brown, huge head. It was a bit of a gusher, actually. Smells nicely fruity - apples and pears, with some caramel and toffee. Taste is caramel, bubblegum, and then apples and pears. Nice woody finish. Pretty enjoyable.

Aroma is fairly malty with some toasted bread, caramel, hint of chocolate and nuts. Some medium light fruit notes - raisins, prunes, plum and pear. Faint phenolic note. Pours a clear brown with some copper and ruby hues. Moderately thick, large tan head that has average retention. No lacing or legs. Flavor has a light sweetness to it followed by some malt character. Caramel, toasted bread and a light chocolate note with a light roast character. Moderate nuttiness with medium light raisin and prune notes. Light pear and red apples. Faint phenolic character. Mouthfeel it?s light bodied with medium high to high carbonation. Low but present astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a fairly mediocre beer. I wonder if it would have been better fresh. The aroma is better than the flavor as there is an off note in the flavor that I can?t quite pin down. Either way good, but far from great.

A: Brownish/Reddish Hue, Passes Mild Light, Thick White Fizzy Head, Some Lacing that fades quickly S: Bready, Yeast, Crackers, Mild Dark Fruit T: Bready, Yeast, Mild Belgian Sugar, Mild Plum M: Decent Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mildly Grainy Overall, this was very underwelming, just not much to it for flavor profile, especially for a Belgian Dark, just seemed rather bland and boring.

Bottle shared with Simonsen, edvard & daje
Pours brown with a red hue, big white head. Smells of dark fruits, yeast esters, herbs and malts. Moderate sweet, honey and melon, some nice fruits. Moderate bitter. A very nice belgian style from the Bruery. High drinkability factor
