Our spin on an American-style barley wine, and we we say "our spin", we mean it’s super hoppy. Dry hopped with Simcoe, Centennial and Sterling hops, a real piney and citrusy flavor shines through the dark, caramelly malt backbone. Some may think of it as more of a double IPA than a barley wine, we just think its delicious.

Bottle courtesy of Klaas, thank you sir! Murky brown color. Aroma of boozy caramel. Taste is sweet, sticky, boozy butterscotch.

Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 29, 2014
This one poured a murky light borwn with a beige head. aroma was of stale malt, chemicals and garbage. Falvor was similar, very weir and off and stale IPA.

Art (3220) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 21, 2014
This one poured a fairly clear golden color with a white head. Aromas were of pine and grass and old oxidized hops. Taste had a strange chemical, plastic, astringent taste to it. Something was definitely wrong here. My face swished up with each sip.

marcus (10752) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 3, 2014
Bottle shared by haggerty. Pours orange brown with a decent beige head and a fruit and citrus aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a very dry musty citrus finish. A lovely BW.

Via trade with Mashmaster. The aroma is lovely, bready, toffee, citrus. The appearance is deep, murky, amber off-white head. The flavor is fruity, bread, citrus, pine. Mainly malt forward, despite the label’s description. The finish is citrus, grapefruit, pine, lingering sweetnesss. Thick in body, oily mouthfeel. Nice.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a red tinge and a healthy froth of tan foam. aroma is sharp pine and complimentary hop bitterness over an even malt backbone showing raisin and toffee. Taste is hop heavy with pine and bitterness over a relatively clean malt profile that includes pleasant raisin and heavier sweet malt. Clean, coating mouthfeel. This bottle is at least two years old and the hop profile on this is still going strong. Great beer.

AmEricanbrew (7065) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - DEC 30, 2013
On tap. Clear dark amber body with ivory head. Floral hop aromas with deep, rich spicy caramel, pit fruits. Nice spicy caramel, toast, pit fruit flavors with a warming finish__rich smooth mouthfeel--good.

Shared at tasting.. (Near the end)
From what I remember..
Poured cola brown.. Thin head..
Nice fairly hoppy aroma.. Nice balanced taste.. Not much like traditional barleywine.

Cottony In taste with a good hop aroma. Not really special. Average at best barrel comes to front with cotton. Fading head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Brown pour with tan head. Some light malt and hop tones, not overly boozy. Not a big bw fan but this is ok.
