COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Meaning "rye bread" in Danish, we took our inspiration for this beer from the Danes’ staple dark, whole-grain rye bread. Brewed with three types of rye malt, this robust brown ale showcases the earthy, spicy character of the grain, complemented by bready, nutty barley malts and a hint of roast. Loosely based on the Scandinavian Christmas beer or "Julebryg" tradition, this beer is perfect for the colder weather of winter, although it will be available year-round (because who doesn’t love a dark beer now and again, regardless of weather?) And don’t worry about the name, we can’t pronounce it either! But we do have a video of us and a lot of others trying our best at it.

750ml bottle. Pours a reddish opaque brown with a 1 finger foamy head. The aroma is sweet and spicy with a hint of alcohol. Get a lot of rye, banana and bread on the nose. Taste is pretty dry with a semi sweet yeasty, brown sugar and banana finish. Medium body with medium to high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty interesting beer, not a style that I love but I did think this beer was good.

750 ml bottle poured into a Bruery tulip. No bottle date but bought in July 2013. Assuming this is a 2012 bottle if it was a Fall/Winter release. Dark brown with a finger of light tan head. Aromas of dark fruit, caramel, Christmas spices, light rye. Tastes of dark fruit, caramel, spices, some rye, raisins. Medium body with a dry finish.

Bottle, large sample. Dark brown color, medium brown frothy head. Aroma of roast, bit mocha, cookie, spicy rye, some coffee. Bit sweet cookie and biscuit in taste, grainy and slight spicy rye, and roasty and chocolatey bitterness. Chewy palate. I liked it.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. No idea of how old this was as there was no date code. Anyhow: Dark brown with a dense beige head. Aroma is sweet with canned fruit, spices and chocolate. Taste is sweet caramely, metallic, peppery (rye I guess) and with some chocolate. Medium body, high carbonation, round mouth feel. Metallic bitter after taste.
