Draft at Khyber Pass. Opaque nearly black pour. Light brown thin ring. Solid liquorice espresso dark coffee with splayed lactic notes. Ultimately sharp, sweet and bitter. Celery, mocha, coming up the base. Nice mix. sokuzs1 (1519) - POLAND - APR 24, 2017
Aroma: boozy, coffee, more booze, chocolate
Taste: medium sweet, boozy, coffee, some chocolate PabloZab (1657) - Wroclaw, POLAND - APR 24, 2017
Bottle 750ml. Black with light brown, short head. Coffee is the main note in aroma but only at the beginning. Later there is more chocolate and note of the booze. Sweet in taste with chocolate character and big note of booze which burns in the throat and warms inside. Full body but a bit spicy because of quite big booze. davidezdonz (571) - Hong Kong, HONG KONG - APR 21, 2017
A 750ml bottle, batch #315, bottled on 2nd May 2016. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass. It was dark dark brown in colour with an almost two finger dark mocha head that had pretty good retention and left some lacing. Aromas of dark roast coffee, dark fruit plum and raisins, molasses and dark chocolate. Tastes of dark fruited chocolate, cherry and plum sweetness, molasses, booze. Only light coffee notes along with hints of caramel. Smooth, medium to full bodied with light carbonation and a hint of alcohol. Overall the coffee flavours were not as strong as I would have expected. To be fair, it has been almost one year since bottling, but there are many examples of Coffee Stouts, where the coffee has held up really well. Having said that, this bottle is still tasty and really easy to drink, and whereas some Imperial Stouts I can sip for hours, I have pretty much finished this 750ml bottle in less than an hour, which is really fast for me, for a beer with double digit ABV%. beerplace (1958) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 18, 2017
750ml bottle at Brian’s office. Vintage 2016. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is coffee, green pepper, brown sugar. Similar taste. Moderate sweetness. Quite good stuff.

Dark brown, no head. Looks pretty flat (not surprising). Green pepper, touch of roast, lots of alcohol...intense aroma. Sweet, touch of coffee, more of that pepper. Alcohol jumps out at me. It’s a big, massive beer with a whack of coffee but without a real sense of purpose. caesar (7170) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAR 1, 2017
Bottle @ Benzai’s Crazy Carnaval 2017, 5-10 cl sample, thanks all for sharing! Dark color, short frothy head. Aroma of roast, some dark choc and quite some coffee. Smooth coffee in taste, bit chocolatey sweetness. Quite straightforward, but good stuff. ShivanDragon (4501) - Leeuwarden, NETHERLANDS - FEB 27, 2017
