Dark brown, no head. Looks pretty flat (not surprising). Green pepper, touch of roast, lots of alcohol...intense aroma. Sweet, touch of coffee, more of that pepper. Alcohol jumps out at me. Its a big, massive beer with a whack of coffee but without a real sense of purpose.

750mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of coffee and roasted malt. Flavour is full-bodied, with lots of roasted malt and coffee upfront, with some noticeable alcoholic notes on the finish. A little rough but decent.

On tap @ City Beer. Not quite black with a nice finger or so of khaki/off-white foam. Starts off with some nice milk chocolate and roasted malt notes and certainly an enormous amount of coffee. Sort of creamy and a bit of a vanilla note to it. Kind of a hot, boozy finish, but the coffee flavor really shines through, as do bitter dark chocolate and molasses. Certainly an intense beer, but pretty nice.

Capped 750 shared by Marcus. Pours dark brn with a dark tan head. The aroma is most assuredly coffee. Maybe theres some dark treacle. Full bodied. Flavor is coffee and sweetish darkish treacle. Sweet treacle? Well, that seems appropriate here. With a little time some chocolate comes forth. The coffe is excellent, and overall the ale is very tasty. Quite.
