Dark pour, almost black, with a thin tan head. Smokey, earthy, peppery heat, roasted peppers, chocolate, and roasted malt. Definitely some heat in the throat, but not completely overwhelming. I actually enjoyed this, very chipotle. kegbear (436) - Orange, California, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Tap at The Bruery Reserve Party. Strong smoke and chipotle flavor that overwhelmed. Not nearly as good as the normal Smoking Wood. A little too much for me. brokensail (16486) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Black in color with no real head to it, maybe a little bit of mocha foam. Wow, the smoke and chipotle aromas are absolutely overwhelming. Overdone chipotle, smoke, and earth notes. Lots of roast and a little bit of coffee. The flavor is so smokey and heavy on the chipotle that is almost dehydrating. Brutally overdone smoke, charred wood, roasted malt, and maybe some coffee.
