Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a hazy amber color with a frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour yeast and tart fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & sweet fruit flavor with a medium to heavy sweet & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

750 ml bottle shared with the group. Pours a cloudy amber brown with a medium off white head. The aroma has tart fruit, acidic, oak with a spiciness that probably comes from the rye. The flavor has a nicely tart kumquat fruitiness, citrus, clean lactic acidity, oak, mild vinous notes and rye malt spice. This was a nice variation for an already solid beer.

750 ml bottle to taster (2013 vintage; shared by alexsdad06). Looks good; a cloudy bronze caramel with very light caramel head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells tart and mildly funky with a semi-sweet kumquat backbone. Tastes like it smells with a pleasantly tart medium to medium full-bodied mouthfeel. Good stuff!

750ml bottle, big thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing. Hazy amber orange color, light brown. Ring of off-white head. Few ridges of lace. Delicious unique fruity aroma (must be the kumquat? not familiar with those flavors). Works well with the rye flavors, and citrus. Tasty bigger sour taste, lighter sweet. Very tasty, satisfying sour ale.

750 ml, thanks Huhzubendah. Pours a hazy brownish orange with small head that gradually fades. Aroma is kumquat, and intensifies as the beer is allowed to warm. Limes, lime juice, oak, bread, rye. Flavor is tart and sour, with prominent tart kumquats, balanced by rye malt. Medium bodied and tangy, acidic finish. Delicious.

Poured from a 2013 vintage bottle. Aroma is rather kumquat forward with a background rye spiciness. Moderate citrus acidity with light oak and white wine notes. The oak and tannins come out more in the peach version. Pours a hazy, copper orange with a large, tan head that quickly recedes to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is moderately tart, but less so than the the peach version. Moderately strong kumquat note with some other citrus as well. Light tropical fruit, oak and tannins. Light rye spice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but the kumquat really dominates the aroma and flavor. Some light tropical fruit notes and rye spice compliment, but unlike the peach where the fruit was secondary everything here is secondary to the fruit. I do like that it is a bit less acidic.

Bottle. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Aroma is slightly acidic with notes of citrus. Flavor is pretty sour and the kumquats add a nice touch as well. Vinous and citrus character all throughout. Not overwhelmingly sour either, very drinkable. Delicious. Thanks Homer for the bottle!

Darkish orange with a small pale head. Aroma is kumquat, dried peach, orange juice, touch of funk. Medium bodied, citrusy spur on the palate with a slightly dry fruity finish. Taste is kumquat, sweet orange peel, sour peach candy.
