ABUSEDGOAT (2760) - California, USA - APR 24, 2017
2016 bottle. Cloudy amber colored with a white head. Aroma is sour with vinegar, kumquat, acidic, light caramel. Medium bodied, moderate to high sourness, sweeter than some of their other offerings. Like the other sours from The Bruery I couldn’t finish it as it makes my chest tighten. Can’t explain it really, but it’s still a tasty sour otherwise.

From notes (6/4/15). Bottle share with tbub18 -- cheers, buddy! Aggressively sour, which is only accentuated by the high carbonation. The kumquats add a citrus and fruit element -- less than a fruit lambic, but still noticeable -- and brings everything up a level.

Bottle, Deep, softly hazed scarlet-orange with a fuzzy and fizzy head of French vanilla. Well-blended aroma -- a little funk and sweet, fruity citrus (kumquat), lavender, a gentle toastiness, a splash of balsamic. Beautiful. The flavor’s a little less complex, loaded with lemony acidity atop a backdrop of orange peel and orange blossom honey. The tartness is bold but not overpowering, and the snap of rye shows up in the front of the flavor. Good stuff.

Bottle thanks to Will. Pours a dark orange with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong kumquat, stone fruit, funk, oak. Thin mouth, very sour, similar flavors to nose, really enjoyed this one.

MacBoost (1898) - Victor, New York, USA - MAY 2, 2015
Turbid light Amber pour, minimal head. Aromas of some citrus, some oak, some funk. Taste is tart and semi dry. Flavors of citrus fruit, oak barrel, mossy rocks. Citrus twang on the edges of the lips, but not overwhelmingly tart. Nice lactic acidity to it, no vinegar. This is focused and dialed in. Pretty damn good.
